Before you visit

Suspended from 20 October to 8 November 2026

The ropeway closes for maintenance during this period. The summit observation building is listed as open 10:00–21:00; ropeway suspension does not mean all access to the mountain is prohibited. However, the Hokkaido guide’s two-day and three-day Hakodate itineraries and five-day Sapporo–Hakodate itinerary exclude alternative transport to the summit. Remove the ropeway and summit visit from these itineraries during the suspension.
