Admission

Free walking and paid areas differ. Admission to Honmaru and the northern areas costs JPY 320 for adults and JPY 100 for children from 1 April–23 November; these areas are listed as free from 24 November–31 March. Botanical garden admission costs JPY 320 for adults and JPY 100 for children from mid-April–23 November. Combined admission to Honmaru and the northern areas, the botanical garden and Fujita Memorial Garden costs JPY 520 for adults and JPY 160 for children. Check same-day construction/event operations.

Opening hours

The free areas are listed as open 24 hours. Standard paid-area hours are 09:00–17:00 from 1 April–23 November, extending to 07:00–21:00 during the cherry-blossom festival. Honmaru/northern areas also have a 24 November–31 March closure notice; check management guidance for areas accessible in winter.

See castle scenery while following gates and moats. Allow leisurely park time in addition to the walk from Hirosaki Station.

Walk towards Dotemachi to Otemon, about 30 minutes from Hirosaki Station. Allow accommodation access and walks inside the park separately.

Before you visit

Keep closure and construction areas

The keep interior has been closed since 24 November 2025 for the time being. Part of southern Honmaru has restrictions/temporary-stair diversions until around 31 March 2027. Hitsujisaru turret surroundings are also off limits. Follow park notices and on-site diversions.
