Standard individual admission costs JPY 2,500 for adults, JPY 2,200 for people aged 65 and over, JPY 1,200 for primary and junior high school students, and JPY 700 for preschool children aged 3 and over. Transport to the aquarium costs extra.

Usually open from 09:30 to 17:30; from December to February, hours are 10:00 to 17:00. Last entry is 1 hour before closing: 16:30 on regular days and 16:00 from December to February.

What to see at Marine World Uminonakamichi

Marine exhibits, sea lions and dolphins

Spend time watching the marine animals in the tanks. You can also see sea lion and dolphin shows, combining the exhibits with live performances. Shows are suspended during the show-pool works described below.

How to get to Marine World Uminonakamichi

From Hakata Station, take a JR train to Kashii Station. Change to the Kashii Line and get off at Uminonakamichi Station. The Fukuoka Subway one-day pass does not cover this JR journey.

Before you visit

Shows suspended from 12 January to 9 April 2027

Show-pool works suspend sea lion and dolphin performances and close the viewing stands from 12 January to 9 April 2027. This period includes contingency days, so check the reopening notice before travelling for a show. The aquarium also closes on 18–21 January 2027.

Hours and works

Allow time for the transfer and the visit

From Hakata, you’ll need to change trains and walk from Uminonakamichi Station to the aquarium. Allow time for the transfer wait and walking as well as the train ride. If you visit on your departure day, you’ll also need time afterwards to collect your luggage from your accommodation and reach the international terminal.

Can I reach Marine World with a Fukuoka Subway one-day pass?

No. The JR trains from Hakata via Kashii to Uminonakamichi are not covered by the subway one-day pass. Buy a separate JR ticket.
