Admission
Entry to the building is free. Individual admission to the main exhibition on Level 5 costs JPY 510 for adults, JPY 310 for senior high school students and JPY 200 for primary and junior high school students. The planetarium and special exhibitions cost extra. Preschool children accompanied by a guardian can enter the main exhibition and regular Dome Theatre programmes free of charge.
Opening hours
The building opens from 09:30 to 21:30. The main exhibition on Level 5 opens from 09:30 to 18:00, with last entry at 17:30.
What to see at Fukuoka City Science Museum
Exhibits on Level 5 and a planetarium on Level 6
The main exhibition is on Level 5. For a planetarium show, look at the programmes at the Dome Theatre on Level 6. The main exhibition and planetarium require separate tickets.
How to get to Fukuoka City Science Museum
Take the Nanakuma Line to Ropponmatsu Station, then walk to the museum. Ask about exhibition tickets at the information and ticket counter on Level 3.
Before you visit
The exhibition closes before the building
Arrive before 17:30 to enter the main exhibition. Although the building stays open until 21:30, the main exhibition closes at 18:00.
Tuesday and New Year closures
The museum closes on Tuesdays and from 28 December to 1 January. If Tuesday is a public holiday, it opens and closes on the next weekday instead. It opens daily during the spring, Golden Week, summer and winter school holidays, apart from the New Year closure. Check the official calendar for your visit date.

Does a main exhibition ticket include the planetarium?
No. You need a separate planetarium ticket. Special exhibitions also have separate charges. Ask about the tickets for your chosen exhibitions and programmes at the information and ticket counter on Level 3.
