Admission
Regular collection admission costs JPY 700 with an e-ticket or JPY 800 at the counter. University students pay JPY 350 with an e-ticket or JPY 400 at the counter. Senior high school age and younger, or under 18, and Matsumoto residents over 70 enter free with proof. Special exhibitions cost extra. The regular two-day castle and art museum collection combined e-ticket costs JPY 1,700.

How to get to Matsumoto City Museum of Art
Walk about 12 minutes from Matsumoto Station or the bus terminal to 4-2-22 Chuo. Enter through the Level 1 hall, then go to the Level 3 collection exhibition.

Monday closures and 2026 exceptions
The museum is closed on Mondays, or the first following weekday if Monday is a public holiday. The existing 2026 calendar also lists 22 December and 28 December 2026–4 January 2027 closures. It opened exceptionally on 10 August 2026. Check the operating calendar for your date.
