Day 1 · WA RASSE Nebuta exhibits and harbour walk

Visit indoor exhibits near the station on arrival day, then rest by the waterfront.
- Aomori Station → WA RASSE
Walk east towards the waterfront. WA RASSE is roughly one minute from the station; adult exhibition admission is ¥620.
- WA RASSE exhibition hall → Harbour walk and Aomori overnight stay
View Nebuta exhibits, then walk briefly by the waterfront if weather allows. Closing is 19:00 May–August or 18:00 September–April, with last entry 30 minutes earlier. For late arrivals, start at the harbour. If moving WA RASSE to the next day, fit both facilities’ hours around return ruins buses. Omit exhibits and subtract admission if time is short.

Day 2 · Jomon ruins and indoor exhibits
Sannai-Maruyama Historical Site · 三内丸山遺跡
Explore pottery, clay figures and reconstructed daily-life displays, then the outdoor site. Start indoors if it rains.

Take Nebutan-go to 三内丸山遺跡前. Adult fare is ¥300 per ride. Regular and specified-date timetables differ; check both journeys for your visit date before leaving.

- Bus-stop roundabout → Jomon Jiyukan and outdoor site
Walk roughly one minute from the stop to Jomon Jiyukan’s ticket desk and entrance signs. Enter the site through this building. General admission ¥500 covers outdoor ruins and permanent exhibits; take a rest between visits. Special exhibitions and activities are separate.

Check an Aomori Station-bound service and return to the same stop outside the site. Distinguish city-bus stops and Shin-Aomori-bound services. Return buses may be infrequent; fit viewing and meals around your return service.

Day 3 · Hakkoda Ropeway and mountain views

Visit for mountain scenery on a day when buses and ropeway operate.

Take a JR bus towards Lake Towada/Sukayu and get off at ロープウェー駅前. Adult one-way fare ¥1,290. Seasonal routes and reservation conditions vary; check both journeys for your date first.

- Base station → Summit Park Station and Gourd Line
Take the roughly 10-minute ropeway ride, ¥2,500 return for junior high age and older. Walk only open Gourd Line sections near Summit Park Station. A return ticket does not mean every trail is open. Check meal availability and return timing before eating on the mountain.
- Summit Park Station → Base station and Aomori Station
Descend by ropeway in time for your bus and go to the Aomori-bound stop. If strong winds or maintenance suspend service, replace mountain walking with an open indoor city attraction or rest.
The seasonal last ropeway departure is 16:20 or 15:40. Check official notices for temporary early services, maintenance, weather suspensions and winter bus reservations.
Day 4 · Hirosaki Park gates and moat walk
Hirosaki Park · 弘前公園
Move from Aomori to Hirosaki, walk the park and stay overnight.
- Aomori Station → Hirosaki Station
Travel between the cities on a JR Ou Main Line local train. Costs use an adult one-way reference ¥720; recheck dated trains and fares in Ekinet. Distinguish Shin-Aomori from Aomori Station.

- Hirosaki Station → Park Otemon gate
Walk towards Dotemachi to Otemon. Official station walking time is roughly 30 minutes. Your starting point varies with accommodation location.
- Otemon → Sannomaru, moat and Hirosaki overnight stay
Explore gates and moats in free walking areas. The keep interior is currently closed; stay outside construction areas. Check dated opening and fees separately before adding paid areas.
This route’s costs use free park areas. Adjust park walking to your companions’ abilities and local access guidance.
Day 5 · Hirosaki City Museum exhibits
Hirosaki City Museum · 弘前市立博物館
After yesterday’s park walk, visit museum exhibits before returning to Hirosaki Station.
- Park Otemon gate → City museum
Follow the left arrow on the sign inside Otemon. Walk along the wooded path between tennis courts and the plaza, then turn right to the museum entrance.
- City museum → View exhibits
This route uses ¥500 general admission for the exhibition on Sugae Masumi’s travels in Tsugaru, open 09:30–16:30. Check official exhibition guidance for your date, fees and closures. Other exhibition periods may have different content and costs.
- Museum and park → Hirosaki Station
Leave through Otemon after viewing and return towards Hirosaki Station. Leave walking time; eat along the way if time allows.
Keep interiors are excluded. If exhibition dates do not fit, substitute park walking or another open facility.
Included: WA RASSE ¥620; site permanent exhibits ¥500; ropeway return ¥2,500; city museum ¥500; Nebutan-go return ¥600; Aomori–ropeway bus ¥1,290 each way; Aomori–Hirosaki one-way local train reference ¥720.
Separate costs and conditions: Three Aomori nights, one Hirosaki night, meals, paid park areas, travel before/after the trip, luggage storage, special exhibitions and activities.
Local JR ¥720 one way is an adult reference; recheck dated trains and prices in Ekinet. Museum ¥500 is general admission for 3 October–29 November 2026; check other exhibition dates’ prices. Eligible Aomori Station departures from 12 November 2026–31 March 2027 add a ¥300 bus reservation fee, excluded above. JR EAST PASS holders also need advance reservations.

Day 2 · Yasumiya to Lake Towada accommodation

Move from Aomori to Lake Towada for two lakeside nights.
- Aomori Station → Lake Towada Yasumiya
Take an autumn JR bus towards Lake Towada to Yasumiya terminus. Adult one-way fare ¥3,480. Choose a departure connecting to your hotel shuttle after arrival. Winter Aomori buses end at Sukayu; this lake route does not apply then.

- Yasumiya → Towada Hotel and lakeside stay
Eat and rest near the terminus before your reserved hotel shuttle. Towada Hotel, used in this example, is on the western shore in Kosaka, Akita, roughly 15 minutes by shuttle from Yasumiya. Do not plan to walk there. Reserve by around 22:00 the previous night; it does not run without reservations.
Choose lakeside accommodation first and check access from Yasumiya. These shuttle conditions apply only to Towada Hotel. If both directions cannot be reserved, secure another route or omit lakeside overnights.
Day 3 · Lake Towada shore, Maiden Statue and shrine
Walk around Yasumiya while spending a second night at the same lakeside accommodation.
- Towada Hotel → Yasumiya
Hotel shuttles to Yasumiya are listed at 08:30, 09:30 and 10:30. Take your reserved departure for lakeside walking and choose the return to accommodation. Confirm with the hotel whether return shuttles for walks during your stay can be reserved.
- Yasumiya → Maiden Statue and Towada Shrine
Prefectural tourism guidance lists roughly 15 minutes from the stop to the statue; the environment ministry lists five minutes from central Yasumiya to the shrine. Different starting points mean these cannot be added as a total walk. Limit walking to nearby sections in rain or under local restrictions.

- Yasumiya → The same Towada Hotel
After lunch and lakeside rest, return by reserved shuttle. Yasumiya departures are listed at 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00, subject to change. If adding boats or Oirase, check operation and separate return transport fitting your hotel shuttle.
Spend a second night at the same accommodation. Separate lakeside walks from additional paid activities.
Day 4 · Lake Towada to Aomori
Leave lakeside accommodation and return to Aomori for one night.
- Towada Hotel → Yasumiya
After checkout, take your reserved shuttle to Yasumiya. Do not confirm bus transfers from the roughly 15-minute ride alone; allow getting off, luggage handling and delays when choosing a return service.
- Yasumiya stop → Aomori Station and overnight stay
Return on an Aomori Station-bound JR bus using your dated timetable. Adult one-way fare ¥3,480. Spend your final night at Aomori accommodation afterwards.
Do not apply this Yasumiya return to winter routes ending at Sukayu.
Day 5 · Prefectural art museum
Aomori Museum of Art · 青森県立美術館
After your lake stay, view art in Aomori before leaving.

Take a Sannai-Maruyama-bound city bus to 県立美術館前. Adult one-way fare ¥280. Check the city-bus timetable for your departure date.
- Museum-front stop → First-floor entrance and galleries
Follow the sidewalk left, then turn right at museum entrance signs. Summer access guidance lists roughly two minutes walking; follow winter routes during snow. From first-floor general information, take the gallery elevator to basement level 2. Adult collection admission is ¥700; special exhibitions have separate prices.

- Art museum → Aomori Station
This route returns by taxi. Arrange museum pickup time and location beforehand. Official access guidance gives roughly ¥2,000 per vehicle to the station as a reference; actual fares vary. Taxi cost is excluded from the total below.
09:30–17:00, last entry 16:30. Check official exhibition and closure calendars and finish in time for your return vehicle.
Included: WA RASSE ¥620; art collection ¥700; Aomori–Lake Towada (Yasumiya) bus ¥3,480 each way; one-way museum city bus ¥280.
Separate costs and conditions: Two Aomori nights before/after the lake, two lakeside nights, meals, museum–station return taxi, sightseeing boats, airport/Shin-Aomori connections, onward departure, special exhibitions and luggage storage.
The association gives a return-taxi reference of ¥2,000 per vehicle, varying with traffic; it is excluded from the per-person total. Confirm pickup location, time and fare when booking. Use the free Towada Hotel shuttle only after confirming accommodation, both reservations and actual operation.

Can I immediately transfer to a bus after the Yasumiya hotel shuttle?
