2 nights, 3 days: stay in the city or by the coast?

Stay two nights near Miyazaki Station to give the shrine, Aoshima and museum a day each. Compare two Aoshima nights for a coastal stay with driving visits to Udo and Obi. The city route uses JR and walking; the coastal route visits Horikiri Pass before returning the car on the last day. Check museum closures and Udo access restrictions when setting dates.
