Stay in Yufuin or explore nearby cities from Beppu?

After hells and ropeway, stay one night in Yufuin; alternatively, stay four Beppu nights with separate Usuki Stone Buddhas and Usa Jingu days. Usuki uses a pre-booked sightseeing taxi, while Usa uses station-front buses and the shrine approach. Both areas’ JR and local transport costs are excluded from subtotals.
