Yamanashi in 5 days: one Kofu night and three Kawaguchiko nights
Spend one night in Kofu and three in Kawaguchiko, separating art, castle ruins and lake sightseeing. Visit Kofu's museum on day 1, then the castle ruins before a K1 bus to Kawaguchiko on day 2.
For views towards Mount Fuji from above, ride the ropeway on day 3 and walk Oishi Park on day 4. For exhibits and lake views from the water, walk the north shore on day 3 and visit the World Heritage Center with Appare on day 4. Adding a day to the 4-day Kofu overnight itinerary allows either the viewpoint or World Heritage exhibits with a cruise. Both choices visit the gem museum on the last day.

Can one JR TOKYO Wide Pass cover rail and lake buses for all five days?
The pass lasts three consecutive days, so one cannot cover both the first and last days of a five-day trip. Eligible JR East and Fujikyu Railway travel is covered, but this itinerary's Red Line and Blue Line buses and Appare tickets are separate. Compare regular tickets with the pass using other JR journeys. Check purchase conditions, including an original valid passport issued outside Japan, plus reserved-seat and collection guidance.
