When does this pass suit your itinerary?
Compare the pass price with individual JR fares if you will travel around Fukuoka on two consecutive days using unreserved seats. For reserved seats or a wider Kyushu trip, compare the Northern Kyushu Rail Pass’s coverage.
Eligibility, prices and child ages
This pass is for travellers living outside Japan who enter on a foreign passport with Temporary Visitor status. Bring your original passport and proof of that status. Official prices are JPY 3,500 adult and JPY 1,750 child. JR Kyushu assesses children aged 6–11 on the start date; check the seller’s age conditions separately.
Covered routes and the official English map
Eligible unreserved seats within the official area, including Mojikō, are covered. The guide shows Sonic from Hakata via Kokura to Yukuhashi · 行橋, and Yufu from Hakata to Kurume. It does not cover the whole journey to Yufuin · 由布院 or Huis Ten Bosch · ハウステンボス. Check the boundary stations on the English map.
Excluded trains, operators and seats
The Sanyo Shinkansen between Hakata and Kokura, Kyushu Shinkansen between Hakata and Kurume, other railway companies, subways and buses are excluded. Green Car, DX Green and Green private compartments cannot be used. For a reserved seat, ask at a counter about the separate basic-fare and reserved-seat limited-express tickets and charges before boarding.
LINKTIVITY and my route have different access paths
For a LINKTIVITY sales-channel ticket, open the dedicated URL sent by email. For a my route purchase, select the ticket in the app under my ticket → Purchased Tickets & Reservations. Do not mix their ticket-registration procedures.
Use the live screen at a staffed gate
Keep an internet connection and check that the validity timer is moving. A screenshot cannot be used for boarding. Show the live ticket screen at a staffed passage rather than using automatic gates.
Cancellation and smartphone problems
JR Kyushu’s official guide lists a JPY 440 fee per ticket for refund before activation and no refund after activation. Agency purchases also need their seller’s cancellation conditions checked. A broken or lost smartphone is not grounds for refund. If you cannot display the ticket for reasons on your side, you must pay separately for the journey.
From purchase to boarding
On the first travel day, open the ticket and check its dates and traveller count. LINKTIVITY uses the emailed URL; my route uses the app’s purchased-ticket list.
Press Activate when you start using the ticket. You cannot obtain a refund after activation.
Connect to the internet, check that the ticket timer is moving, then show the live pass screen and passport to staff.
Use unreserved seats within the coverage area. During an onboard inspection, also tell staff where you will get off.
