The NONBIRI Holiday Suica Pass is a one-day IC-card-only ticket for eligible JR local and rapid trains around Tokyo · 東京, plus the Rinkai Line and Tokyo Monorail within its valid area. It is available on weekends, Japanese national holidays and designated seasonal periods. Shinkansen travel is not included.

When does this ticket suit your itinerary?

Compare it with ordinary fares if you will make a return journey around Tokyo and get off at intermediate stations on a holiday. For a weekday trip, first check whether the date falls within one of the eligible seasonal periods.

Prices and child fares

JR East lists this pass at JPY 2,850 for adults aged 12 or over and JPY 1,420 for children aged 6–11. Compare the price with the fares for your planned eligible-day journeys, including any travel beyond the pass area.

Eligible dates and one-day validity

Use it on Saturdays, Sundays and Japanese public holidays. It is also valid every day from 29 April to 5 May, 20 July to 31 August and 29 December to 3 January. Choose one eligible day for travel.

Check your IC card before buying

JR East lists this ticket for eligible Suica and Welcome Suica cards, and for the Welcome Suica Mobile app. In Welcome Suica Mobile, buy it on the day you will travel using Apple Pay; advance app purchase is not available. If buying at a station machine, confirm that it accepts your card before paying.

Covered trains and extra charges

The ticket includes eligible JR local and rapid trains, the Rinkai Line · りんかい線 and Tokyo Monorail · 東京モノレール within the coverage area, with unreserved seating only. To take a limited express, buy the required limited-express ticket separately. The Shinkansen cannot be used with this pass.

Where to buy

Buy from a JR EAST reserved-seat ticket machine within the coverage area, except where sales are excluded. Welcome Suica Mobile users can buy the pass in the app on their travel day. Check that the machine or app accepts your card and payment method before buying.

From purchase to boarding

  1. Check that your travel day is a weekend, Japanese public holiday or one of the specified seasonal dates.

  2. Check that your Suica supports this ticket. Buy at a supported JR EAST reserved-seat ticket machine, or use Welcome Suica Mobile on the day you will travel.

  3. Touch your IC card on the reader at automatic ticket gates within the coverage area. This differs from inserting a paper exchange order.

  4. If you travel outside the coverage area, extra fares may be deducted from your IC balance. Check the boundary stations and keep enough balance. Buy limited-express tickets separately; the Shinkansen is excluded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it on a weekday?

Normally it is for weekends and Japanese public holidays. Weekdays are also eligible from 29 April to 5 May, 20 July to 31 August and 29 December to 3 January.

How do I use it at ticket gates?

Touch the IC card on the automatic gate’s reader. With enough stored balance, fares for travel outside the coverage area are deducted from the card.

Are limited expresses and the Shinkansen included?

Buy a separate limited-express ticket for eligible limited-express travel. The Shinkansen cannot be used with this pass.

Are the Rinkai Line and Tokyo Monorail included?

Yes, within the official coverage area. This differs from the JR-only Tokunai Pass.
