Admission
Honmaru plaza is free. Keep admission costs JPY 520 for adults or JPY 160 for primary school pupils. Return ropeway or chairlift tickets cost JPY 520 for adults or JPY 260 for children, separate from keep admission. Adult keep admission and return transport total JPY 1,040. The chairlift is for primary school age and above.
Opening hours and closed days
The keep and Ninomaru historic garden usually open from 09:00–17:00, closing at 17:30 in August or 16:30 in December–January. Keep entry ends 30 minutes earlier: usually at 16:30, at 17:00 in August or at 16:00 in December–January. Both close on the third Wednesday in December. The ropeway usually runs from 08:30–17:30, ending at 18:00 in August or 17:00 in December–January. The chairlift runs from 08:30–17:00 and is suspended in rain.

How to get to Matsuyama Castle
Alight at Okaido tram stop and walk about 5 minutes to Shinonomeguchi ropeway station. Take the ropeway and walk onwards from the upper station to Honmaru and the keep. Leave this extra walking time if entering the keep.

Walking continues after the ropeway
Even with the ropeway/chairlift, walk from the upper station to Honmaru and the keep. The keep has no lift and steep stairs. Choose Honmaru plaza views if these stairs are difficult.
