How to get to Yahiko Shrine

Take the JR Echigo Line from Niigata to Yoshida, then change to a Yahiko-bound JR Yahiko Line train and alight at Yahiko. The shrine is about 1 km or 15 minutes on foot from the station. Return from Yahiko to Yoshida, then change for Niigata. Check travel-date return trains and fares with JR.

Choose your Yoshida transfer and return services together

Change trains at Yoshida and walk from Yahiko Station to the shrine. Choose return trains in advance and allow for both the walk back to the station and the Yoshida transfer.

Do you have to reach the mountain summit to visit Yahiko Shrine?

You can explore only the shrine grounds. The shrine reached on foot from Yahiko Station differs from the summit’s Okumiya. To visit the summit as well, check transport such as the ropeway, plus separate fees and operating hours.
