Bandai Bridge riverside walks require no attraction ticket, and general admission to Befco Bakauke Observation Room is free. Bus travel, meals and shopping cost extra; private hire or events may restrict observation room access.

Niigata City riverside walking guideOfficial observation room guide

Can you add Sado Gold Mine to a half-day city route?

The mine is on Sado Island. A one-way car ferry from Niigata Port to Ryotsu takes about two hours 30 minutes, followed by an island bus journey to the mine. Plan a separate island trip rather than combining it with a half-day walk in Niigata City. The four- and five-day mine routes spend two nights in Ryotsu, separating the mine visit and ferry return days.
