Admission

Individual admission is JPY 1,500 for senior high school students and older visitors, JPY 600 for primary and junior high school students, and JPY 200 for preschool children aged four and older. Children aged three and younger enter free.

Basic hours are 09:00–17:00, with ticket sales and last admission until 16:30. Closed 29 December–1 January and the first Thursday of March and the following day. Schedules may change around New Year, Golden Week and summer holidays.

How to get to Marinepia Nihonkai

From stand 9 at Niigata Station’s bus terminal, take C22 Hamauracho Line bound for Suizokukan-mae (水族館前) and alight at the terminus. The ride takes about 25 minutes; one-way fares are JPY 260 for adults and JPY 130 for children. The stop is on the road outside Niigata Field. Walk through the front entrance (正面入口), buy a ticket beside the museum shop (チケット売場), then proceed to the visitor entrance. Return on a Niigata Station-bound C22 in the same stop area. Allow separate time for bus waits and the walk from the stop.

Take a Niigata Station-bound bus after your visit

After visiting, take a Niigata Station-bound C22 in the Suizokukan-mae stop area. If catching an onward train, leave time for the bus wait too.
