Admission

Individual admission is JPY 1,500 for high school students and older, JPY 600 for primary and junior high school students, and JPY 200 for preschool children aged four and older. Children aged three and under enter free.

Opening hours

Usual hours are 9 am–5 pm, with ticket sales and last admission at 4.30 pm. It closes from 29 December to 1 January and on the first Thursday in March and the following day. Schedules may change over New Year, Golden Week and summer holidays.

How to get to Marinepia Nihonkai

Take the C22 Hamauracho Line bus bound for Suizokukan-mae (水族館前) from stand 9 at Niigata Station Bus Terminal and get off at the last stop. The ride takes about 25 minutes; single fares are JPY 260 for adults and JPY 130 for children. The stop is on the road outside Niigata Field. Walk through the main entrance (正面入口), buy your ticket at the counter (チケット売場) beside the museum shop, then go to the admission entrance. Return on a C22 Niigata Station-bound bus from the same stop area. Allow extra time for bus waits and walking from the stop.
