Visitor information
Admission
Individual admission is ¥1,500 for high school students and older, ¥600 for elementary and junior high school students, and ¥200 for preschool children age 4 and older. Children age 3 and younger enter free.
Opening hours
Normal hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m., with ticket sales and last admission until 4:30 p.m. Closed December 29–January 1 and the first Thursday in March and following day. Schedules may change around New Year, Golden Week and summer vacation.

How to get to Niigata City Aquarium Marinepia Nihonkai · 新潟市水族館マリンピア日本海
From Niigata Station bus terminal stop 9, take a Suizokukan-mae-bound C22 Hamauracho Line bus (水族館前) to the terminus. The ride takes about 25 minutes; one-way fares are ¥260 for adults and ¥130 for children. The stop is by the road outside Niigata Field. Walk through the main entrance (正面入口), buy tickets at the counter (チケット売場) beside the museum shop, then proceed to the exhibition entrance. Return on a Niigata Station-bound C22 from the same stop area. Allow extra time for bus waiting and walking from the stop.
