Five days in Mie: stay in Ise or move through Iga and Toba

Day one: start with the Outer Shrine

Walk from Iseshi Station to the Outer Shrine, then have a meal and stay near the station. The course starts at Iseshi Station and excludes airport transfers.

1. Iseshi Station → Outer Shrine entrance

   Follow the shrine approach from Iseshi Station’s JR-side exit for about five minutes to the Outer Shrine entrance.

2. Outer Shrine entrance → Accommodation near the station

   Walk about ten minutes one way from the entrance to the main sanctuary for worship, then retrace the route to the station area. Worship and the return walk take extra time. Have a meal and check in nearby. If arriving after worship ends, swap this visit with Futami on day four, also checking the coastal weather.

Day two: Inner Shrine return trip

1. Iseshi Station stand 10 → Naiku-mae bus stop

   Take a Naiku-mae-bound bus from Iseshi Station stand 10. Adult return fares total JPY 1,040; search times for your date separately.

   Cross Ujibashi and walk to the main sanctuary for worship, then have lunch in Oharaimachi on the return route.

3. Naiku-mae stand 2 → Iseshi Station and the same accommodation

   Take an Iseshi Station-bound bus from Naiku-mae stand 2 and return to the same Ise accommodation.

Day three: Toba Aquarium

1. Kintetsu Iseshi Station → Kintetsu Toba Station

   Choose return Iseshi–Toba services for your date in Kintetsu’s search. Take a Toba-bound train and alight at Toba. A limited express requires a separate supplement ticket. This course’s partial total excludes rail fares.

2. Toba Station Exit 1 → Toba Aquarium entrance

   Follow the aquarium signs from Exit 1 and walk about ten minutes. Ticket-gate and admission queues take extra time.

3. Toba Aquarium entrance → Toba Aquarium

   See the dugong tank and displays of Ise-Shima marine life. Adult admission is JPY 2,800.

4. Toba Aquarium → Accommodation near the station

   After a meal in Toba, return to the station and take an Iseshi-bound train. Check the return train in advance, allowing for your meal and the station walk when deciding when to finish sightseeing.

Day four: Futami coast return trip

1. Iseshi Station → Futami shrine and Meoto Iwa rocks

   From JR Iseshi, take a Sangu Line service towards Toba that stops at Futaminoura. Walk about 15 minutes from Futaminoura Station to the shrine and Meoto Iwa rocks. Choose your date’s return service to Iseshi too.

2. Futami shrine and Meoto Iwa rocks → Futami coast

   Ordinary worship is free; check shrine office services and prayers separately. In strong wind or heavy rain, shorten the coast visit or use the day to rest.

3. Futami coast → Accommodation near the station

   Return to Futaminoura Station and take an Iseshi-bound train back to your accommodation. JR tickets are excluded from this course’s partial total. Search from Futaminoura to Iseshi with your date in JR Central’s planner to check the return service and fare.

Day five: shrine-approach shops and departure

1. Iseshi Station → Outer Shrine approach shopping street

   If time remains before departure, visit open shops and have a meal along the Outer Shrine approach and near the station. This day does not include re-entering the shrine. Shops have individual hours, so leave out shopping for an early departure.

2. Outer Shrine approach shopping street → Iseshi Station

   After your meal or shopping, retrace the route to Iseshi Station. Leave time to reach the platform for your booked departure.

Day one: Iga ninja museum

See the ninja house’s devices and tool displays, then stay near Uenoshi Station. The course starts at Iga-Kambe Station and excludes airport transfers.

   Change to the Iga Railway towards Uenoshi and alight there. Iga Railway tickets are excluded from the course subtotal. Check the official search for your date’s times and fares.

2. Uenoshi Station → Museum in Ueno Park

   Follow the official local map to the ninja museum in Ueno Park. The roughly ten-minute walk is access time; ticket purchase and reception queues take extra time.

3. Museum in Ueno Park → Ninja exhibitions and optional show

   Watch demonstrations of the ninja house’s hidden doors and devices, then examine ninja tools in the exhibition halls. Admission for senior high school students and older visitors is JPY 1,000. If dates and times fit, add the JPY 600 demonstration show. Complete admission reception before 15:30 on weekdays or 16:00 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

4. Ninja exhibitions and optional show → Accommodation near Uenoshi Station

   Retrace the walk to Uenoshi Station, have a meal and stay nearby. The official ten minutes is the one-way access time. On days without shows, visit the house and exhibitions only.

Day two: move to Ise and visit the Outer Shrine

1. Uenoshi Station → Iga-Kambe Station

   Take the Iga Railway from Uenoshi towards Iga-Kambe and alight at Iga-Kambe.

2. Iga-Kambe Station → Iseshi Station

   Change to Kintetsu at Iga-Kambe for Iseshi. The Osaka and Yamada lines connect at Ise-Nakagawa, but whether you must change trains depends on the service. Search from Uenoshi to Iseshi with your travel date to check transfers, stops and fares. A limited express requires a reserved-seat limited-express ticket in addition to the base fare ticket.

3. Iseshi Station JR-side exit → Outer Shrine and Iseshi Station

   If enough time remains before the seasonal worship deadline, follow the approach from the JR-side exit to the Outer Shrine entrance and main sanctuary. Return by the same approach. Skip the shrine if arriving late, choosing according to your arrival service and the seasonal closing time.

Day three: Inner Shrine and the same accommodation

1. Iseshi Station → Inner Shrine main sanctuary and Oharaimachi

   Take a Naiku-mae-bound bus from Iseshi Station stand 10, cross Ujibashi and walk to the main sanctuary for worship.

   After a meal in Oharaimachi, return on an Iseshi Station-bound bus from Naiku-mae stand 2. Stay at the same Ise accommodation. Adult return bus fares total JPY 1,040. Check times and service changes for your date separately.

Day four: Toba Aquarium and an overnight stay

Move from Ise to Toba, visit the aquarium and stay in Toba for one night.

   Search from Iseshi to Toba with your date in Kintetsu’s planner. Check stops and transfers for an ordinary Toba-bound train and alight at Toba. A limited express requires a supplement ticket as well as the base fare. Rail fares are excluded from this course’s partial total.

   Follow aquarium signs from Toba Station Exit 1 for about ten minutes. Allow for ticket queues and arrive before your date’s last admission: usually 16:00, or 16:30 in specified peak periods.

3. Toba Aquarium entrance → Exhibitions and Toba accommodation

   See the dugong tank and Ise-Shima marine-life displays, then have a meal and stay in Toba. Adult ordinary admission is JPY 2,800. Usual hours are 09:30–17:00, with last admission at 16:00; check special hours for your date in official notices. You do not return to Ise this day.

Day five: a short coastal walk before leaving Toba

1. Accommodation near Toba Station → Coastal promenade

   If weather allows, visit the free Kamome Promenade, about five minutes from Toba Station.

   Have a meal near the station, then return to Toba Station. Skip the walk in strong wind, rain or for an early departure. Pearl Island and other paid facilities are excluded from this day’s basic itinerary.
