Standard admission is ¥2,300 for adults, ¥1,100 for elementary and junior high school students, and ¥400 for preschool children age 3 and older. Children under 3 enter free. Date- or time-specific online tickets may be needed on busy days. Night events require a separate ticket.
Opening hours
Standard hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with last admission at 4:00 PM. There is no fixed weekly closing day, but maintenance closures occur in June and December. NIGHT AQUAWORLD, held on some Saturdays and special-event dates, runs 5:45 PM–8:00 PM, with last admission at 7:00 PM. Follow official notices for other closures and changes.

How to get to Aqua World Oarai Aquarium · アクアワールド茨城県大洗水族館
At Oarai Station, take the Umimachi Line (うみまちライン) bus's tourist route (観光ルート). Get off about 20 minutes later at Aqua World Oarai (アクアワールド・大洗), then walk about 1 minute to the aquarium. The adult bus fare is ¥200 per ride. Other loop routes do not stop at the aquarium; confirm the tourist route before boarding.

2026 Maintenance Closures
Maintenance closures in 2026 are June 23–24 and December 7–11. Visiting is unavailable during those periods; check whether your dates overlap. Date- and time-specific entry may apply on busy days.
Food Court Closure Planned for November 2026–March 2027
The food court is scheduled to close November 1, 2026, through mid-March 2027. A food-court lunch inside the aquarium may be unavailable during that period. Check dining-area notices before your visit and plan meals separately.
