Ordinary admission costs JPY 2,300 for adults, JPY 1,100 for primary and junior high-school students and JPY 400 for preschool children aged three and older. Children under three enter free. Date- and time-specific web tickets may be required on busy days. Evening events use separate tickets.
Opening hours
Ordinary visiting hours are 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:00. There is no fixed weekday closure, but maintenance closures occur in June and December. NIGHT AQUAWORLD on selected Saturdays and special-event days runs 17:45–20:00, last admission 19:00. Follow official notices for other closures or changed hours.

How to get to Aqua World Oarai Aquarium
Take Umimachi Line (うみまちライン)’s sightseeing route (観光ルート) from Oarai Station. Alight about 20 minutes later at Aqua World Oarai (アクアワールド・大洗), about one minute’s walk from the aquarium. The adult fare is JPY 200 per ride. Other loop routes do not stop here; check the sightseeing route before boarding.
Before you visit
2026 maintenance closures
2026 maintenance closures are 23–24 June and 7–11 December. Visits are unavailable during these periods; check against your travel dates. Date- and time-specific admission may apply on busy days.
Scheduled food-court closure, November 2026–March 2027
The food court is scheduled to close from 1 November 2026 to mid-March 2027. Lunch there may be unavailable; check dining-area notices and arrange meals separately before visiting.

Does daytime admission cover an evening event?
No. Leave after daytime visiting and re-enter with a separate evening ticket. Events are not daily; check whether one runs on your date.
