Admission
Individual admission for the falls tunnel and observation decks is ¥500 for adults and ¥300 for elementary and junior high school students. The adult fare applies to ages 15 and older excluding junior high school students. These fares have applied since July 1, 2025, and include the First Observation Deck and the Second Observation Deck reached by elevator. Follow the official guide for group fares and exemptions.
Opening hours
The falls viewing facilities operate year-round. They open 8:00 AM–6:00 PM May–October, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM in November, and 9:00 AM–5:00 PM December–April. The official guide does not list a separate last-entry time; contact the facility if arriving late. Follow notices for your date for temporary changes.

How to get to Fukuroda Falls · 袋田の滝
Walk about 40 minutes from JR Fukuroda Station to the falls. By bus, get off at Takimoto and walk about 10 minutes. The Ibaraki guide's falls itineraries walk on the outward trip and take the bus back. Enter through the viewing tunnel and visit the decks, then board the bus to Fukuroda Station at Takimoto boarding point 1. The bus fare is ¥260. Reach the Second Observation Deck by elevator inside the tunnel.

Visit tips
Allow Time from the Station to the Falls
The walk from Fukuroda Station takes about 40 minutes. Even by bus, you walk about 10 minutes after getting off at Takimoto. Allow time to reach the entrance after leaving your train or bus.
Connect the Return Bus with a Mito-Bound Train
Take the bus from Takimoto to Fukuroda Station, then transfer to a Mito-bound Suigun Line train. Check both timetables for your date. Delays can cause a missed connection, so check the next service too. The ¥1,040 one-way Mito–Fukuroda JR fare is a reference from an Eki-net search on October 8, 2026.
