Admission
Individual admission to the viewing tunnel and platforms costs JPY 500 for adults and JPY 300 for primary and junior high-school students. Adult pricing applies to ages 15+ excluding junior high-school students. These charges apply from 1 July 2025 and include the first platform and lift-accessed second platform. Follow official conditions for groups and exemptions.
Opening hours
Waterfall viewing operates throughout the year. Opening hours are 08:00–18:00 in May–October, 08:00–17:00 in November and 09:00–17:00 in December–April. Official guidance does not separately list last admission; ask the facility if arriving late. Follow your date’s notices for temporary operating changes.

The viewing facilities have a first platform and a second reached by lift. Visit both in turn for waterfall views from different heights.
How to get to Fukuroda Falls
Walk about 40 minutes from JR Fukuroda Station, or take a bus to Takimoto and walk about ten minutes. Follow the Ibaraki guide by walking from the station to the falls and taking a bus back. Enter the viewing tunnel, explore the platforms and board a Fukuroda Station-bound bus at Takimoto stop 1 afterwards. The bus fare is JPY 260. The lift inside the tunnel reaches the second platform.

Before you visit
Walking time from station to falls
Walk about 40 minutes from Fukuroda Station or take a bus to Takimoto and walk another ten minutes. Leave time to reach the waterfall entrance after alighting.
Return bus and Mito train
Take a Fukuroda Station-bound bus at Takimoto, then change to a Mito-bound Suigun Line train. Check your date’s bus and train times together. Delays may cause missed connections; check later services. The JPY 1,040 Mito–Fukuroda one-way JR fare is an Ekinet search reference from 8 October 2026. Does the second-platform lift cost extra?
No. Viewing-facility admission includes both platforms and the lift to the second.
