Admission

Gifu Park is free. On Mt. Kinka Ropeway, adults aged 12 or junior high school age and older pay ¥1,300 round trip or ¥800 one way. Children aged four to under 12 pay ¥650 round trip or ¥400 one way. The closed castle's former admission charge is excluded.

Opening hours

The first uphill ropeway service is 9:00 a.m. Listed last weekday services are 5:30 p.m. uphill and 6:00 p.m. downhill; weekend last services are 8:00 p.m. uphill and 8:30 p.m. downhill. Seasonal and evening operations may differ, so check the timetable for your date.

How to get to Gifu Park / Mt. Kinka Ropeway · 岐阜公園・ぎふ金華山ロープウェー

From JR Gifu Station boarding points 12 or 13, take a bus via Nagara Bridge that stops at Gifu Koen/Gifu-jo, such as N43. Choose using your date's timetable and stop signs. The park is about a three-minute walk from the stop. Mt. Kinka Ropeway takes about four minutes, excluding boarding waits. Return by a JR Gifu-bound bus from the park stop.

Gifu Castle keep and museum closure

As checked October 8, 2026, the keep has been closed since May 19, 2026 and the museum since April 1. Keep closure is listed through around October 31, 2027, with Gifu City planning reopening in November 2027. If the castle interior is your goal, check reopening notices.
