Opening hours
Hours are 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with last admission at 4:30 p.m. The museum closes on Tuesdays, with exceptions if Tuesday is a public holiday. It also closes the day after a public holiday, except Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Check the official calendar for your date.

How to get to Miyazaki Prefectural Museum of Nature and History · 宮崎県総合博物館
From Miyazaki-Jingu Station, enter the shrine through the torii across the intersection in front of the station, then walk through the grounds to the museum, about 11 minutes. By bus, use stop 2 outside Miyazaki Station's west exit for a service toward Koga Hospital, Kunitomi, or Shusen-no-Mori. Get off in front of the museum and walk about 3 minutes. The existing sources do not confirm this bus's frequency or fare. If driving, follow the operator's directions via the Yanosaki intersection and west gate to Parking Lot 1 in front of the main building. The station-based walking estimate differs from the walk from parking.

Visit tips
New Year and maintenance closures
The museum closes December 28, 2026–January 4, 2027 for New Year and January 26–February 2, 2027 for maintenance. There may also be closures for collection work, fumigation, or facility upkeep; check the official calendar. If visiting on your departure day, allow time afterward to return the car or reach the station or airport.
