Rest at a Yamanaka Onsen inn after city sightseeing. Staying two nights leaves a full day for a nearby riverside walk and rest at the inn. Take a train to Kagaonsen Station and transfer to a bus or reserved inn shuttle.

  • Bus from Kagaonsen StationReach this hot-spring area by bus from Kagaonsen Station. The tourism association directs visitors to Yamanaka Onsen-bound buses at boarding point 2. Check your date's fares and services with the bus operator linked below.
  • Rail Fares and Suspended Direct BusThe local train from Kanazawa to Kagaonsen uses IR Ishikawa Railway. Standard adult fares are ¥880 one way or ¥1,760 round trip for that section, excluding the Shinkansen and hot-spring-bound bus. IR's official standard fare table was revised March 14, 2026, and says fares otherwise remained unchanged apart from the addition of Shikibu Station. Check your date's trains and the stop for your inn separately. The direct Kanazawa bus was suspended after its final service on July 31, 2023; check the latest operating notice before planning a direct bus.
  • One Night or Two at the Hot SpringsOhanami Kyubei, the inn example here, has check-in at 3:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM. One-night options use the baths and dinner on arrival, then return to Kanazawa the next morning. Two-night options leave a full day for a nearby riverside walk and rest. Arrange meal times with the inn at check-in. Rooms and meals depend on your booked product; lodging and meals are separate from the transportation and admission subtotal.
  • Reserved Shuttle or Local BusReserve Ohanami Kyubei's free shuttle separately by the day before. Choose and reserve a service in the official access guide that connects with your date's train. The reference ride time is about 25 minutes. It does not operate without reservations. A roughly 1.3 km path follows the river from Korogi Bridge to Kurotani Bridge in Kakusenkei. View the gorge from a bridge or walk just the section near your inn. Riverside tea seating depends on the season and weather.

For Higashi Chaya, get off the right loop at Hashibacho, in front of Kinjoro, and walk about 5 minutes. For Nagamachi, get off the left loop at Korinbo, in front of Atrio, and walk about 5 minutes. To return from Nagamachi to the station, use the station-bound right-loop stop at Korinbo in front of the former Bank of Japan building. Stops sharing the Korinbo name differ in loop direction and boarding location.
