Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium · 沖縄美ら海水族館
Watch whale sharks and manta rays swimming in Churaumi’s Kuroshio Sea tank. View it through the large front window, then look up at fish from the Aqua Room. The aquarium is in Ocean Expo Park in northern Motobu.

General admission costs JPY 2,180 for adults, JPY 1,440 for high school students and JPY 710 for primary and junior high students. Preschool children under 6 enter free; school years follow Japan’s April boundary. Tropical Dream Center and paid sightseeing carts cost extra. Aquarium admission is not charged across all Ocean Expo Park.
Opening hours
Standard opening hours are 08:30–18:30, with last admission at 17:30. Official guidance lists no planned closures through 31 March 2027. Check dated notices for temporary closures/hour changes.

Two ways to see the Kuroshio tank
The front window overlooks the large tank with whale sharks and manta rays. The Aqua Room offers views from below, giving another perspective on the same Kuroshio Sea tank.
How to get to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
Take northbound Yanbaru Express Bus from Kencho Kitaguchi to Kinen Koen-mae, then walk roughly ten minutes to the aquarium entrance. Airport-origin fares differ from Kencho Kitaguchi fares.

Before you visit
Choose your return bus before viewing time
For a Naha bus return, choose the return service first and arrange viewing around it. Allow walking back to Kinen Koen-mae after sightseeing. Check both services against your date’s timetable.

Separate aquarium and botanical tickets
Tropical Dream Center shares Ocean Expo Park but is excluded from regular aquarium admission. Allow separate admission and viewing time for both.

Does my aquarium ticket include Tropical Dream Center?
It needs separate admission. Older regular-aquarium-ticket half-price guidance differs from current conditions. Official half-price eligibility covers aquarium annual-pass holders.
