Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

Watch whale sharks and manta rays swim in Churaumi Aquarium's Kuroshio Sea tank. View it through the large main window, then look up at the fish from the Aqua Room. The aquarium is in Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, in the northern part of the main island.

Admission costs ¥2,180 for adults, ¥1,440 for high school students, and ¥710 for elementary and junior high school students. Preschool children under 6 enter free; school-year categories follow Japan's April cutoff. Tropical Dream Center and paid sightseeing carts cost extra. Aquarium admission does not apply to all of Ocean Expo Park.
Opening hours
The aquarium usually opens 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., with last admission at 5:30 p.m. The official guide lists no scheduled closures through March 31, 2027. Check notices for your date for temporary closures or changed hours.

Two perspectives on the Kuroshio Sea tank
The main window looks into the large tank with whale sharks and manta rays. In the Aqua Room, look up at fish from below. Both viewpoints offer different ways to enjoy the same Kuroshio Sea tank.
How to get to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
Take a northbound Yanbaru Express Bus from Kencho Kitaguchi to Kinen Koen Mae, then walk about 10 minutes to the aquarium entrance. Fares from Naha Airport differ from fares from Kencho Kitaguchi.

For a bus trip from Naha, choose your return service before deciding how long to spend here. Leave time to walk to Kinen Koen Mae after sightseeing. Check both directions using the timetable for your visit date.

Tropical Dream Center is in the same Ocean Expo Park, but ordinary aquarium admission does not include it. For a visit to both, allow separate admission fees and viewing time.
