See whale sharks and manta rays in Churaumi’s large tank. Make a Naha bus return trip, allowing stop walking, bus waiting and park movement separately from riding time.

Take northbound YKB from Kencho Kitaguchi in front of Palette Kumoji and alight at Kinen Koen-mae (Central Gate). One official timetable example leaves 08:40 and arrives 10:45: two hours five minutes riding. With the 16:15 return below, park time is five hours 30 minutes. Before departure, check that these services run on your date. Official guidance gives roughly ten minutes from the stop to the aquarium entrance. Enter via Central Gate, go to the right of Haisai Plaza and follow northward aquarium signs.

Road congestion may delay Naha arrival. Alight almost opposite the Palette Kumoji front stop, walk to accommodation and eat dinner in Naha. Adult fares: JPY 1,900 one way, JPY 3,800 return.

If skipping today’s northern visit, spend time on Naha’s Kokusai Street/market. To switch to the museum, check opening, last admission and extra costs. Yanbaru Express Bus does not reserve seats. Use the steps below for next-service and return alternatives when full.
Day 3 · Accommodation → Kokusai Street/First Makishi Public Market → accommodation → airport
After the northern aquarium, choose souvenirs on Kokusai Street or a meal at First Makishi Public Market. For a morning flight, move the city walk to day 1 and go to the airport. Walk back to your accommodation before boarding the airport train at Kencho-mae on this itinerary.

After immigration and luggage collection, use the terminal’s passage on Level 2 to Naha Airport station. Take a Tedako-Uranishi-bound train to Omoromachi: JPY 320, 19 minutes. Walk 10–15 minutes to the museum and use the current front entrance. Large-luggage lockers on Level 1 beside it require a JPY 100 coin returned after use. If luggage does not fit or lockers are full, ask the general information desk about alternatives.

Day 2 · Accommodation → Shurijo Castle Park → Naha city → accommodation
Walk Shureimon and the grounds for Ryukyu history. To see the Main Hall interior, match opening and booking sessions to your date. If a closure changes your date, adjust other facilities and transport together.

Take a Tedako-Uranishi-bound train from Kencho-mae to Shuri: JPY 320, 14 minutes. Use the south exit and official Shureimon walking route, generally about 15 minutes. On Main Hall booking days, allow 40–50 minutes between Shuri arrival and the reserved session.

Visit the grounds and paid area. Adult admission is JPY 400 through 21 November and JPY 1,000 from the 23rd. For Main Hall interior from 23 November 2026, show your ticket’s QR code for the reserved date and time at Hoshinmon. Unreserved tickets exclude the interior. All areas close on 22 November. On the 23rd, visit after the paid area’s noon opening.

Reduce outdoor viewing if wind or rain makes castle or garden walking difficult. To switch to the museum, check opening, last admission and Yui Rail operations first. Do not assume indoor facilities operate normally when typhoons stop transport. Skipping/changing visits changes admission and transport segments.
Day 3 · Accommodation → Fukushuen → city meal → accommodation → airport
After museum and castle history, walk Fukushuen and have a city meal on the final day. For an early flight, visit the garden on an earlier city day or skip it. Kencho-mae–airport riding is about 13 minutes; accommodation returns and check-in are extra.

Leave Kencho-mae accommodation and arrive after 09:00 at the garden’s 2-29-19 Kume entrance on the official access map. The walk is seven minutes from Kencho-mae; accommodation-to-station time is extra. Adult daytime admission costs JPY 200. After the garden, return towards Kencho-mae for a meal.

Frequently asked questions
Can I visit Churaumi in three days without a hire car?
Yes, but give day 2 to the north. Take northbound YKB at Kencho Kitaguchi in front of Palette Kumoji, alight at Kinen Koen-mae and walk roughly ten minutes to the aquarium entrance. For the return, cross the Central Gate footbridge to Naha-bound YKB beneath the connecting bridge.
Choose both services in your date’s official timetable. Yanbaru Express Bus does not reserve seats; the next service also has no guarantee. After missing the last bus, check a Naha vehicle, fare and tolls at Central Gate’s taxi rank. Taxis are excluded from the subtotal.

Does a Yui Rail one-day pass reach the northern aquarium?
It does not. The adult JPY 1,000 24-hour free pass covers the full Yui Rail line. Kinen Koen-mae buses and aquarium admission are separate. Pass coverage checked 8 October 2026.
