Four nights in Okinawa: how should I divide north and Naha?
For large-tank marine life and glasshouse flowers, spend a day at the aquarium and Tropical Dream Center, then visit Naha’s museum, castle and gardens on other days. For cave walks and crafts, choose Okinawa World in the south and visit the museum and art gallery together on another day. Arrange return vehicle transport separately for your southern day.
Choose an itinerary for 5 days / 4 nights
A · Two northern facilities in one day, with more time in Naha
See marine life in the large tank and glasshouse flowers and fruit trees by visiting aquarium and Tropical Dream Center on one day. Keep the same Naha accommodation and make only one northern bus return. Other days cover museum, castle and garden. For longer shows and beach visits, splitting the northern facilities may suit better. Choose a botanical-centre opening day.

After immigration and luggage collection, use the terminal’s passage on Level 2 to Naha Airport station. Take a Tedako-Uranishi-bound train to Kencho-mae: JPY 290, 13 minutes. Walk to accommodation; this walking time is separate from riding.

Day 2 · Accommodation → aquarium → Tropical Dream Center → Naha accommodation

- Kencho Kitaguchi in front of Palette Kumoji → Kinen Koen-mae → aquarium entrance
Take northbound YKB from Kencho Kitaguchi in front of Palette Kumoji and alight at Kinen Koen-mae (Central Gate). One official timetable example leaves 08:40 and arrives 10:45: two hours five minutes riding. With the 16:15 return below, park time is five hours 30 minutes. Before departure, check that these services run on your date. Official guidance gives roughly ten minutes from the stop to the aquarium entrance. Tropical Dream Center closes Wednesdays from 1 July 2026–31 March 2027, or the immediately following weekday if Wednesday is a public holiday. Swap northern day with museum/castle day for a closure, checking museum closures and Shurijo bookings too. The suggested allocation is aquarium two hours, lunch/walking one hour, botanical centre one hour and return preparations about one hour. Late/full buses require shorter viewing or another date. These service examples use the operator’s currently supplied timetable effective 1 November 2025. The five-hour-30-minute park window includes entrance walking and bus waiting. After late arrival, shorten or skip the botanical centre rather than trying to complete both.
Day 3 · Accommodation → museum → Naha city → accommodation
After northern marine life and plants, explore Okinawa’s nature and history at Naha’s museum. For Monday or other closures, swap with day-4 Shurijo, checking castle opening and Main Hall booking times for the revised dates.
- Kencho-mae accommodation and station → Omoromachi → museum front entrance
Take a Tedako-Uranishi-bound train from Kencho-mae to Omoromachi: JPY 250, six minutes. Allow another 10–15 minutes on foot to the museum’s front entrance at 3-1-1 Omoromachi, Naha. Check side-entrance/rear-gate closure notices and enter through the front.

Walk from the front entrance to Omoromachi and take a Naha Airport-bound train to Kencho-mae: JPY 250, six minutes. Today’s rail return totals JPY 500. Eat dinner near Kokusai Street and return to the same accommodation. Meals are excluded.

Frequently asked questions
Can I see aquarium and Tropical Dream Center on one day?
Both are in Ocean Expo Park, so combine them if return buses leave enough viewing, meal and walking time. Aquarium’s official average 1.5–2 hours excludes outdoor dolphin, turtle and manatee facilities. The exit-to-botanical-centre walk is about 15 minutes; after delays, skip it and prioritise your return. The botanical centre closes Wednesdays 1 July 2026–31 March 2027, or the next weekday after a public-holiday Wednesday.

Does a Motobu night cost the same as a Naha return plan?
It changes costs. Five-day A’s JPY 9,590/10,190 is the full itinerary’s admission/transport subtotal while staying in Naha and making a northern day trip. It is not the cost of northern day alone. A Motobu night needs accommodation, hotel travel and next-day Naha transport separately recalculated. Confirm Mahaina shuttle times at reception; there is no airport shuttle.

Can I use the museum/art gallery 1DAY pass on any date?
The JPY 750 pass applies to museum permanent/art collection exhibitions visited together on one day within 25 September–28 November 2026. It excludes some special exhibitions. Southern/city five-day subtotals JPY 5,070/5,670 also assume this pass. Individual tickets checked 9 October totalled JPY 930, JPY 180 more, but the comparison uses that exhibition period’s prices. From 29 November, recheck exhibitions/prices and recalculate, adding southern return vehicles separately.
