Admission including the museum costs JPY 1,000 for adults and senior high-school students, and JPY 500 for primary and junior high-school students.
Opening hours
Zuiganji opens daily at 08:30. In April–September, it closes at 17:00, with last admission at 16:30. In March and October, it closes at 16:30, with last admission at 16:00. In February and November, it closes at 16:00, with last admission at 15:30. In January and December, it closes at 15:30, with last admission at 15:00.

Different decorations in each room
Each main-hall room has themed paintings and carvings, as well as different ceiling decorations. Look at the wall paintings and decorations overhead as you move between rooms.
How to get to Zuiganji
Take the JR Senseki Line from Sendai to Matsushima-Kaigan and walk about ten minutes to Zuiganji. Matsushima Station on the Tohoku Main Line is a different station, about 25 minutes’ walk away.
Before you visit
Matsushima-Kaigan and Matsushima are different stations
Zuiganji is about ten minutes’ walk from Matsushima-Kaigan or 25 minutes from Matsushima Station. From Sendai, choose a Senseki Line train that stops at Matsushima-Kaigan.
