Brisbane Airport ↔ Tokyo Narita Airport: counter, flight number and disruption steps

For a Qantas Brisbane–Narita disruption, go to Brisbane’s International Terminal and find the assigned desk on the airport display. Do not use a domestic-terminal counter location for this international departure.

Search the flight number before leaving for the airport

The numbers below identify the planned service in the airline’s checked schedule. They are not a live result. Search the operating flight number and local departure date through Qantas, then check the airport board for the current counter.

Find your flight, counter and document guide

Search an operating number in either direction. The guide shows the route and check-in location; open the airline’s official search for your travel date’s times and status.

Choose airports or an airline without entering a number to browse checked services in either direction. Spaces and leading zeros are accepted. The date is a reminder for the official lookup, not a timetable filter: a guide match does not confirm operation on that date. This is not a live status feed.

Planned service reference

Australia to Japan

QF61: Brisbane → Narita

Qantas lists Brisbane–Narita as a current direct Japan route. Confirm the flight number, operating day and counter against the itinerary and live status on the travel date.

Japan to Australia

QF62: Narita → Brisbane

For the return journey, look up the same operating airline at the Japanese airport on your departure day.

Where to find the counter

Brisbane Airport → Japan

International Terminal. International check-in is normally on Level 4. During terminal redevelopment, some airlines temporarily use Level 2; Brisbane Airport tells passengers to check the flight-information displays for their assigned location. Do not assume every Japan flight uses the same floor or a permanent row.

Use the departure board for the operating flight to identify today’s desk and opening time.

Tokyo Narita Airport → Australia

Terminal 2, 3rd floor. Go to the international check-in floor shown here, then find your operating flight number on the departure board for today’s counter. A boarding gate is not a check-in counter.

Delay or cancellation document

Qantas’s Australian help centre offers “Request insurance letter” and delay/cancellation support. Its public help page does not describe a universal self-serve delay certificate for every flight, so use the official request path or ask Qantas staff for the document your insurer or employer requires.

Check-in, baggage drop and local dates

For Qantas-operated international flights QF1–QF399, complete airport check-in at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure. International online and app check-in run from 24 hours until 90 minutes before departure. These are different deadlines. For other codeshare operators, use the operating carrier’s rules; confirm the airport’s counter opening time separately.

BNE uses Australia/Brisbane; NRT uses Asia/Tokyo. Overnight flights can arrive on a different calendar day. Use the scheduled local departure date for status and document searches; Australia’s daylight-saving changes do not apply to every departure city.

If this flight changes on the day

  1. Confirm that the flight number and operating airline match your booking; codeshares can be handled elsewhere.
  2. Ask the counter for the revised departure time, rebooking or refund path, and checked-baggage plan.
  3. Save the airline message, flight status and any case number. If you need evidence, use the official document path above rather than treating a screenshot as a certificate.
  4. Report damaged, missing or delayed baggage to the operating airline before leaving the airport.

When returning to Brisbane and connecting domestically, Australian border processing requires you to collect checked baggage and clear immigration and customs before the domestic leg. A delay can therefore affect more than the boarding time of the next flight.
