Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport ↔ Sapporo New Chitose Airport: counter, flight number and disruption steps

Qantas’s direct Sydney–Sapporo flight is a winter seasonal service. Start at Sydney Terminal 1 International; for the return, use New Chitose’s international terminal, not the domestic terminal used by flights to Tokyo.

Search the flight number before leaving for the airport

The numbers below identify the planned service in the airline’s checked schedule. They are not a live result. Search the operating flight number and local departure date through Qantas, then check the airport board for the current counter.

Find your flight, counter and document guide

Search an operating number in either direction. The guide shows the route and check-in location; open the airline’s official search for your travel date’s times and status.

Choose airports or an airline without entering a number to browse checked services in either direction. Spaces and leading zeros are accepted. The date is a reminder for the official lookup, not a timetable filter: a guide match does not confirm operation on that date. This is not a live status feed.

Planned service reference

Australia to Japan

QF107: Sydney → Sapporo

Seasonal service: December 2026–March 2027, not year-round. Qantas’s network and agency pages give different final dates in March; use the date-specific Qantas timetable for your booking.

Japan to Australia

Sapporo → Sydney: check the seasonal flight number on your booking

For the return journey, look up the same operating airline at the Japanese airport on your departure day.

Where to find the counter

Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport → Japan

Terminal 1 International. Sydney Airport says the Terminal 1 check-in areas run from A to K and directs passengers to the departure screens for the counter assigned to their flight. This guide does not publish a fixed airline counter number.

Use the departure board for the operating flight to identify today’s desk and opening time.

Sapporo New Chitose Airport → Australia

International Terminal Building, 3rd-floor departure lobby. The international check-in lobby has counter areas A–D. Look up the Sydney flight on the departure screen for the area assigned to Qantas that day; the domestic terminal’s second-floor counters are not the starting point for this flight.

Delay or cancellation document

Qantas’s Australian help centre offers “Request insurance letter” and delay/cancellation support. Its public help page does not describe a universal self-serve delay certificate for every flight, so use the official request path or ask Qantas staff for the document your insurer or employer requires.

Check-in, baggage drop and local dates

For Qantas-operated international flights QF1–QF399, complete airport check-in at least 60 minutes before scheduled departure. International online and app check-in run from 24 hours until 90 minutes before departure. These are different deadlines. For other codeshare operators, use the operating carrier’s rules; confirm the airport’s counter opening time separately.

SYD uses Australia/Sydney; CTS uses Asia/Tokyo. Overnight flights can arrive on a different calendar day. Use the scheduled local departure date for status and document searches; Australia’s daylight-saving changes do not apply to every departure city.

If this flight changes on the day

  1. Confirm that the flight number and operating airline match your booking; codeshares can be handled elsewhere.
  2. Ask the counter for the revised departure time, rebooking or refund path, and checked-baggage plan.
  3. Save the airline message, flight status and any case number. If you need evidence, use the official document path above rather than treating a screenshot as a certificate.
  4. Report damaged, missing or delayed baggage to the operating airline before leaving the airport.

If snow or a flight change affects your onward ski transfer, ask Qantas for the confirmed recovery flight before changing a separate coach or accommodation booking. Keep the airline message, local departure date and baggage report reference together.
