  • FeesIndividual admission costs JPY 500 for adults. Senior high school age and younger enter free. Student ID may be requested.
  • HoursFrom April to October, Jinya is open from 8:45 am to 5 pm, with entry until 4:30 pm. From November to March, it is open from 8:45 am to 4:30 pm, with entry until 4 pm. New Year closures or temporary closures due to bad weather may apply. Remove shoes for viewing; bring thick socks in winter.
  • AccessJinya is about 10 minutes on foot from Takayama Station or Nohi Bus Center. Walk via Nakabashi and along the old streets after viewing.

Explore Hida living spaces in relocated houses. This outdoor museum differs from Shirakawa-go's lived-in village and is an option for gassho roofs on a short trip.

  • HoursThe village is usually open from 8:30 am to 5 pm, year-round. Autumn 2026 evening events operate separately on specified dates.
  • AccessTake a Sarubobo bus towards Hida Folk Village from Takayama Nohi Bus Center to the facility stop. Riding takes about 10 minutes, excluding waits and viewing. Return towards the centre. The official leaflet describes direct access after alighting; follow entrance signs to the ticket office and allow ticket time.

Walk Shirakawa-go for village views of large gassho roofs. Residents still live here; follow public paths for exteriors. For interiors, pay separate admission to Wada House's public areas on Levels 1 and 2.

  • HoursWada House hours are 9 am–5 pm, with irregular closures; confirm opening for your date. Do not enter private homes or fields. Viewpoint transport and winter events are outside the itineraries below.
  • AccessTake a Shirakawa-go bus from Takayama Nohi Bus Center to Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal. The operator estimates about 50 minutes; some services require reservations. Check reservation status for the return.

Visit Gifu Park and Mt. Kinka for park walks and mountain views. The castle keep and museum are closed; plan exterior and viewpoint viewing. Slopes and stairs remain on the mountain.

  • FeesGifu Park is free to visit. Return ropeway fares are JPY 1,300 for adults aged 12+ or junior high school age and above, and JPY 650 for children aged four through primary school. Do not add former castle admission prices during closure.
  • HoursThe keep has been closed since 19 May 2026 and museum since 1 April. Gifu City plans reopening in November 2027. Ropeway hours vary seasonally; inspection suspensions are scheduled for 1–28 December 2026 and 7 January–16 February 2027.
  • AccessFrom JR Gifu stands 12/13, choose buses via Nagara Bridge such as N43 stopping at Gifu Park/Gifu Castle. Check your date's timetable/stop signs; alight and walk about three minutes to the park. Ropeway riding is about four minutes, excluding queues. Return by JR Gifu-bound bus from the park stop.
