Separate attraction days or stay in Sasebo?

Four nights in Nagasaki city give you more time for harbour attractions, the museum and night views. To see both cities, spend two nights in each. Cruise on day four and leave Sasebo for the airport on day five. Compare travel directions in the side-trip guide below before adding another city.

FAQs

Can I cruise at Kujukushima with only one night in Sasebo?

This itinerary stays two nights in Nagasaki followed by two in Sasebo. For one night in Sasebo, first check whether a cruise fits on arrival day and an airport bus fits the next day. A late arrival may suit the two-night option with a separate cruise day.

Does the four-night city itinerary combine the garden and night views on one day?

Glover Garden is on day two, the museum on day three and Mount Inasa on day four. JPY 4,500 covers four attraction charges only; trams and airport buses cost extra. Reserve the free shuttle's outward and corresponding return services. The JPY 1,900 ropeway return fare is already included in JPY 4,500.

Does the Northern Kyushu Rail Pass cover buses in the Sasebo itinerary?

No. The Nagasaki–Sasebo highway bus, airport buses, trams and Pearl Sea Resort buses are outside its coverage; cruises cost extra. For a rail alternative, compare eligible JR routes, outward and return trains, local connections and ordinary fares before choosing a pass. Basic itinerary costs include neither pass purchase nor assumed savings. Eligibility requires a non-Japanese passport, residence outside Japan and tourism entry under Temporary Visitor status. Check your entry stamp or sticker and carry your passport when using the pass. If using automated immigration gates, ask airport staff for an entry stamp or sticker.
