Chiba: which city should be your base?
Compare Maihama or Shin-Urayasu accommodation for a full day each at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, or Narita Station stays for temple visits and Sawara’s historic streets. Choose Port Tower for Chiba city harbour views, or a two-day Kamogawa route with an overnight stay, separating orca shows and coastal walks.
Both Disney parks are in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. Even when flying through Narita, decide first between parks, Narita city, central Chiba and Kamogawa to choose your accommodation.
Parks, temple approach, historic streets or southern sea?
Choose a Disney park day or Naritasan/Sawara street walks first. Compare Port Tower for harbour views or Kamogawa for coast and aquarium. Separate areas into different days after checking prices, opening dates and access.

Which station area should you stay in?
Maihama and Shin-Urayasu
Compare hotels around Maihama Station for a Disney park day. Shin-Urayasu requires further travel to park entrances.
Check your booked hotel’s park route. For shuttles, check dates, stops and last services; choose late viewing only if you can return in time.

Consider these areas for temple visits along Omotesando, Sawara trips or an overnight before a Narita departure.
Distinguish station-area and airport-area hotels. Airport hotel shuttles do not all serve Narita Station.

Chiba Station and Chiba-Minato
Choose this area for central Chiba meals and a Port Tower visit.
Port Tower is near Chiba-Minato. Do not choose accommodation assuming daily walks from Chiba Station.
Around Awa-Kamogawa Station
Choose this area for Sea World and an extra southern night.
It fits a hotel move rather than daily returns to the parks and Narita Airport.
Plan Tokyo returns and transport tickets first
Use Maihama for Tokyo-to-park travel
Take a JR Keiyo/Musashino train stopping at Maihama from Tokyo; return on a Tokyo-bound service. Walking between other JR lines and Keiyo platforms adds time beyond train rides. Add hotel–Tokyo travel if staying elsewhere.
Disneyland is roughly five minutes from Maihama. DisneySea requires roughly two minutes to Resort Gateway, nine minutes riding and one minute from DisneySea Station to entrance. Platforms, waits and queues add time. Check last trains/hotel shuttles for post-closing returns first; compare Maihama or Shin-Urayasu stays for consecutive park days.

Kamogawa day trips and overnight returns differ
From Tokyo, connect Wakashio to Awa-Kamogawa with the free shuttle. Use passage stairs to the west-exit stop. The roughly 10-minute shuttle excludes train/bus waits and Tokyo hotel approaches. Choose a day trip after matching dated viewing/shows with return shuttle/express.
Five-day B spends one Kamogawa night, walking the coast on arrival and visiting Sea World next day. Fit viewing/shuttle to Tokyo-bound express and Narita JR connections. This moves to new Narita accommodation rather than returning to a Tokyo hotel.
Wakashio does not accept unreserved-seat limited-express tickets. Reserve a seat when departure time is set. A seat-unspecified ticket allows use of an empty seat only until its reservation holder arrives, when you must move; it differs from a reserved seat.

Calculate JR pass, Resort Line and Keisei separately
JR Tokyo Wide Pass: adult ¥16,000, three consecutive days from your chosen start. Listed operators include JR East/Tokyo Monorail, excluding Keisei, Disney Resort Line and Chiba Urban Monorail. An original passport issued outside Japan is required; Temporary Visitor status is not necessary. Park admission and JR tickets are separate.
The two-day Narita-only Keisei airport subtotal differs from journeys using Kamogawa limited expresses or multiple JR sections. Even on four/five-day trips, the pass covers only three consecutive days. Add ordinary fares for actual days/sections before comparing. Subway tickets alone do not reach JR Maihama/Kamogawa; hotel shuttles are not automatically included in rail passes.

Plan arrival and departure days around airports
Add immigration, baggage and hotel access before arrival-day sightseeing. Eat/rest for late arrivals. Work backwards from the airline airport deadline for trains, transfers and terminal travel. Add storage/collection conditions and hotel returns only when leaving bags there. For an early flight, leave without final-day sightseeing.

The parks share a resort but have different entrances/access. Walk roughly five minutes to Disneyland; take Resort Line for DisneySea. Compare five-day A for a day each. Choose arrival-day Disneyland in two-day B only with viewing time after transfers.

Walk Omotesando to Naritasan, with meals along the way. Leave time before/after the temple for eel restaurants. The calligraphy museum inside the park extends walking beyond the temple alone. Check opening and separate exhibit days as in four-day A.

Sawara · 佐原: museum and riverside
Take JR from Narita to Sawara for Ino museum and Onogawa walks. Allow roughly 15 minutes to museum, then riverside walks/meals. Return to Sawara Station for a Narita-bound train afterwards. Compare three-day A’s day trip with five-day B continuing to southern accommodation.
Chibaminato · 千葉みなと: harbour views
Go towards Chiba-Minato rather than Chiba Station for Port Tower. From Chiba, take urban monorail, then walk roughly 12 minutes. Return to the same station afterwards. Choose three-day B’s departure-day visit only with airport time; compare four-day A’s first day for longer harbour visits.

Kamogawa · 鴨川: coast and aquarium over two days
Choose a Kamogawa overnight for southern sea views and orca shows. Walk the coast on arrival and visit the aquarium the next day. Walk roughly five minutes from Awa-Kamogawa to the Maebara and Yokosuka coast; reach Sea World in roughly 10 minutes by free shuttle from the west exit. Allocate each access separately.

Can I stay in Tokyo for a Disney trip?
Yes, with a workable Maihama return route. Disney Resort is in Urayasu, Chiba; consider post-closing travel/transfers. Compare Maihama or Shin-Urayasu too for consecutive park visits.
Do I take Skyliner from Narita Airport to Naritasan?
Choose a train stopping at Keisei-Narita or JR Narita. Skyliner runs towards Nippori/Ueno, so it does not provide the same city-hotel/temple route. Select terminal/station and check fares and timetable for your visit date.
