Naritasan Shinshoji Temple
成田山新勝寺
Pair Naritasan/Omotesando for temple visits and eel meals. The station-front approach is roughly 800 m; stairs and slopes continue from Somon to the main hall. Separate prayers, sutra copying and souvenirs are excluded from route costs.
- HoursMain hall, reception and restaurants have different hours. Move indoor visits to the next day after late-evening arrival.

Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum
伊能忠敬記念館
Explore Ino Tadataka’s surveying tools/materials to learn how Japan’s maps were made. After exhibits, walk Sawara’s historic riverside streets. Choose only riverside walking if streets interest you more than exhibits.

- Hours09:00–16:30; official guidance recommends entry by around 16:00. Closed Mondays, next weekday for public holidays, and 29 December–1 January.
- Getting thereWalk roughly 15 minutes from JR Sawara to the museum at 1722-1 Sawara-i, Katori. Pair it with Onogawa streets.
Chiba Port Tower
千葉ポートタワー
Choose the deck for harbour views or surrounding Port Park for outdoor walking without entry. Cloudy weather reduces distant visibility.
- PricesAdults ¥420; elementary/junior high ¥200; children below elementary-school age free.
- HoursJune–September 09:00–21:00. October–May weekdays 09:00–19:00, weekends/public holidays 09:00–20:00. Last entry 30 minutes earlier. Generally closed fourth Mondays of even-numbered months and 28–31 December; dates can change by year, so check the official annual calendar. Strong winds may close it.
- Getting thereWalk roughly 12 minutes from Chiba-Minato. Official guidance lists only one morning bus from Chiba Station on weekends/public holidays. At other times, check the walking route from Chiba-Minato.
Tokyo Disneyland
東京ディズニーランド
Spend a day on Disney-story rides and parades. Visiting after transfers rather than on arrival leaves more park time. Add shows/street viewing and rests when ride queues lengthen.

Tokyo DisneySea

Walk harbour and canal streets and enjoy rides themed around the sea and adventure. Allocate a separate DisneySea day for both rides and scenery. If visiting Disneyland too, prepare each park’s dated ticket.
- PricesDated park-specific one-day tickets: adults from ¥8,900; ages 12–17 from ¥7,400; ages 4–11 from ¥5,300. Select DisneySea and date for actual fares. Disneyland’s one-day ticket does not cover both parks.
- Hours and reservationsCheck hours for your visit date and closed facilities. Extra paid services are excluded from one-day ticket costs.
- Getting thereWalk roughly two minutes from Maihama to Resort Gateway. Ride roughly nine minutes, get off at DisneySea Station and walk roughly one minute to entrance. Waits, platforms and entrance queues add time. Adult Resort Line ¥300 per ride, ¥600 for this return; ¥100 less than the ¥700 day ticket.

Kamogawa Sea World

Choose Kamogawa Sea World for orca jumps and dolphin shows. Select show times first, then aquarium exhibits between them. Weather and animal conditions may change shows; check the program for your visit date.
- PricesHigh school age and older ¥3,300; elementary/junior high ¥2,000; preschool ages 4+ ¥1,300. Ordinary shows included; extra activities separate.
- HoursHours vary by date; check the official calendar. Ticket sales end one hour before closing.
- Getting thereTake Wakashio from Tokyo to Awa-Kamogawa, then the free shuttle. Riding takes roughly 10 minutes; times vary by date. Train/shuttle waits and hotel–station travel add time.
Ikspiari
IKSPIARIイクスピアリ
Browse shops and eat in front of Maihama Station. It fits a short visit without park entry on arrival or late-departure days.
- PricesShopping, meals and films cost separately according to use. Disney park admission is not used here.
- HoursFacility 10:00–22:30; individual shop/restaurant hours vary.
- Getting thereIkspiari is directly outside JR Maihama’s south exit.
Narita tourist pavilion
Narita Tourist Pavilion成田観光館
Visit Narita’s pavilion along Omotesando for free festival-float exhibits. Use stairs/elevator for upstairs viewing; check elevator restrictions in the visit conditions below.

Naritasan Museum of Calligraphy
成田山書道美術館
Leave time for calligraphy exhibits beyond temple visits. Departure-day viewing needs enough return walking, exhibit and airport-transfer time.
- PricesGeneral admission ¥500 through 12 October 2026; ¥800 from 20 October. Official closure 13–19 October.
- Hours09:00–16:00, last entry 15:30. Check official Monday, next-weekday public-holiday, exhibition-change and year-end closures.

Maebara and Yokosuka coast
Maebara Yokosuka Beach前原・横渚海岸
Walk the station-area Maebara/Yokosuka coast on Kamogawa arrival day, then Sea World next day. Omit walking for high waves or access restrictions.
- Getting thereWalk roughly five minutes from JR Awa-Kamogawa. Hotel–station access and time by the coast are separate.
Frequently asked questions
Can I combine Sawara’s museum and riverside?
Walk roughly 15 minutes to Ino museum, then eat/walk around Onogawa. Closed Mondays, next weekday for public holidays. Reduce visits in heavy rain, considering the station walk.
Can I use the pavilion elevator?
Check official restrictions for your date. When stopped, upstairs floats require stairs. If stairs are difficult, view first-floor information or omit the visit. Compare work dates in pavilion visit conditions with your date.
