Frequently asked questions

Can I combine the park, waterfall and aquarium in one day?

This itinerary gives them separate days. The park uses Katsuta Station and a local bus; the falls use the Suigun Line and walking; the aquarium uses Oarai Station and a sightseeing bus. Directions and return services differ. The waterfall itinerary combines Kodokan and Kairakuen on day one to leave a day for the falls.

Can I use the JR TOKYO Wide Pass for Fukuroda Falls from Mito?

The JR Suigun Line between Mito and Fukuroda stations falls within pass coverage. The walk to the falls, JPY 260 Takimoto return bus and JPY 500 viewing facility admission are separate. This itinerary uses JPY 2,080 reference ordinary return JR fares, so buying a JPY 16,000 adult pass just for this section is not better value. If you already have a pass, check the waterfall day falls within its three consecutive days.
