Five days in Nagano: which city deserves an extra day?

For both Zenkoji and Obuse, stay one Matsumoto night followed by three in Nagano city. For old school architecture and education exhibits, stay two Matsumoto nights for Former Kaichi School before moving to Nagano. Both finish with the prefectural art museum and return to Nagano Station. Bus costs use the weekday Zenkoji Daimon route. For weekends/public holidays, recheck stops and both services.
