Admission

There are free and paid areas. Individual paid admission is JPY 300 for ages 16 and over and JPY 100 for primary and junior-high pupils; preschool children enter free.

How to get to Bank of Iwate Akarenga

Take the right-loop Dendenmushi from Morioka Station to Morioka Bus Center, then walk about a minute to Akarenga. The facility lists about 10 minutes on the bus from the station, or 30 minutes walking all the way. Return on the left-loop Dendenmushi from the bus centre to Morioka Station. Both directions pass the bus centre; each adult ride costs JPY 150. If going via the castle park, allow time to explore it and walk onwards.

Before you visit

Plan for luggage and stairs first

The Akarenga building has no lockers or lift. Arrange storage for large bags before visiting. If stairs are difficult, ask the facility which areas you can access.
