Regular return ropeway tickets cost JPY 2,500 for adults or JPY 1,250 for primary and junior high school pupils, including herb garden admission. One-way tickets cost JPY 1,900 or JPY 950 respectively; preschool children travel free. Evening-operation return tickets cost JPY 2,000 for adults or JPY 1,200 for primary and junior high school pupils. Summer and Christmas periods have separate prices. Regular prices follow the 1 April 2026 revision.
Opening hours and closed days
Ropeway and garden hours vary by season and day. During spring and autumn weekdays, Christmas weekdays and winter, ropeway services generally run from 09:30 to 17:15; on evening-operation days, they run from 09:30 to 21:00. On weekdays from 4 September to 6 November 2026, upward ropeway services run from 09:30 to 16:45 and the final downward service is at 17:15. Gardens open from 10:00 to 17:00, with last admission at 16:30. Saturday, Sunday and Japanese public holiday night visits have restricted areas. Check garden last admission for other periods in your date’s guidance.

Walk about five minutes from Shin-Kobe to the lower ropeway station. The ride to the mountaintop takes about ten minutes, excluding ticketing and boarding queues. Strong winds or lightning may stop services.
