Yoshinogari Historical Park offers a walk through a reconstructed ancient village and archaeological remains, with lawns where you can rest outdoors.

Start at the east entrance if you want to see the remains. The play facilities and lawns are closer to the west entrance. Choosing an entrance to suit what you want to see can reduce the distance you walk.

Admission

Individual admission costs JPY 460 for adults aged 15 and above. Junior-high pupils and younger children enter free. Visitors aged 65 and above pay JPY 200 and need proof of age.

Opening hours and closed days

The park opens 09:00–17:00 in April–May and September–March, and 09:00–18:00 in June–August. It closes on 31 December, the third Monday in January and the following Tuesday.

Walk reconstructed settlements and ruins

Walk among the reconstructed settlements and archaeological remains to explore the ancient village. Allow time for an outdoor rest and lunch as well as sightseeing.

How to get to Yoshinogari Historical Park

From Saga Station, take a Nagasaki Main Line ordinary train towards Tosu and get off at Yoshinogari-Koen. Walk about 15 minutes to the east entrance. Check journey times and return services through JR’s official search, and allow extra time for train waits and walks to and from the station.

Before you visit

Start ruins visits at the east entrance

Enter from the east to visit the archaeological remains. The west entrance is closer to the play facilities and lawns, so the walk to the remains will differ.

Combine visits and outdoor rests

Allow about 3–4 hours to visit the archaeological remains, rest outdoors and have lunch. This does not cover a tour of the entire park. Walking to and from the station and waiting for trains take additional time.
