Zuihoden opens from 09:00 to 16:50 on 1 February–30 November, with last entry at 16:30. On 1 December–31 January, it opens from 09:00 to 16:20, with last entry at 16:00.

See Date Masamune’s mausoleum architecture closely. After climbing the approach, pause in front of the mausoleum to examine its decoration.

How to get to Zuihoden

Take Loople to Zuihoden-mae and climb the approach. There are around 80 steps to the entrance and another 30 within the grounds. By Tozai subway line, alight at Omachi-Nishi-koen and walk about 15–20 minutes.

Stairs along the approach

There are around 80 steps to the ticket office and another 30 within the grounds, with many stone-paved paths. If stairs are difficult, ask the facility which areas you can visit beforehand.

31 December closure and partial 1 January opening

Zuihoden closes on 31 December. Only Zuihoden opens on 1 January; Kansenden, Zennoden and the historical museum close.
