Where would you like more time during four days in Sendai and Miyagi?
Choose the history and temple itinerary for Date Masamune’s mausoleum, Sendai Castle Site, Zuiganji’s main hall and Entsuin’s garden. If Zuihoden and castle stairs are difficult, visit Bansuisodo, the aquarium, Entsuin and museum separately across the trip. That alternative still has station-to-facility walks and garden paths; compare the walking requirements before choosing.
Choose a 3 nights, 4 days itinerary
Sendai history, Matsushima and the aquarium
Give Date collections, mausoleum architecture and castle views, Matsushima temples and the aquarium separate days. Visit the museum first, then the mausoleum and castle site the following day.

Day 1 — Museum

Take Loople in the same loop direction back to Sendai Station. Two JPY 300 single rides plus adult/university-student permanent admission JPY 460 total JPY 1,060. Special exhibitions are extra. This uses ordinary fares without the day-pass discount.
Hours are 09:00–16:45, last entry 16:15. Monday and post-public-holiday closures have exceptions; check the official calendar. Recalculate admission subtotals on free-entry or closed dates.

Day 2 — Mausoleum and castle site
Choose Zuihoden for Date clan mausoleum architecture. Take Loople Sendai from Sendai Station west-exit stop 16 to Zuihoden-mae. Walk about seven minutes to reception, with around 80 steps on the approach. Visit the mausoleum and historical museum, then descend to the same stop.
Continue in the same loop direction to Sendai Castle Site. From the stop, climb to Honmaru for the statue and city views, then descend to the same stop. Castle-site walks are free; separate exhibitions are excluded. If stairs at both places are too much, choose just one.
Show that day’s Loople one-day pass before buying admission: the adult/university-student rate is JPY 460. With the JPY 700 bus pass, the subtotal is JPY 1,160. Ordinary admission is JPY 570. Last entry is 16:30 in February–November and 16:00 in December–January. All areas close on 31 December; only Zuihoden opens on 1 January. Return to the station in the same loop direction.

If omitting the mausoleum because of stairs or closures, recalculate admission and actual bus rides.
Day 3 — Matsushima
Explore Zuiganji’s ornate main hall and Entsuin’s garden. Take the Senseki Line for about 40 minutes to Matsushima-Kaigan, a different station from Tohoku Main Line Matsushima. Walk about ten minutes to Zuiganji for architecture and exhibitions, then continue to nearby Entsuin. Allow separate time for each facility’s entry/ticketing and meals.
