The N’EX TOKYO Round Trip Ticket · 成田エクスプレス東京往復きっぷ is valid for one journey from Narita Airport (成田空港) to the designated Tokyo-area JR network and one return journey within 14 days. It is not an unlimited pass. Leaving the ticket gates ends that one-way journey.

Validity and direction of travel
The ticket is valid for 14 days. Use the first journey from Narita Airport towards Tokyo and the second from the valid area back to Narita Airport. You cannot reverse this order.
Can I change to another JR train?
You can change from the Narita Express to other covered JR trains without an extra fare if you remain inside the ticket gates. The same applies when changing from a covered JR train to the Narita Express on your return journey. Your arrival and return departure stations can differ, provided both are in the valid area.
Where do I collect the ticket?
Collect at Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station (成田空港駅) or Narita Airport Terminal 2・3 Station (空港第2ビル駅), at a JR East Travel Service Center, JR Ticket Office (Midori-no-Madoguchi) or reserved-seat machine with a passport reader. The Travel Service Center hours are 08:30–19:00 at Terminal 1 and 08:30–20:00 at Terminal 2・3. Ticket offices and passport-reader machines at both stations are listed as available from 06:30 to 21:45.
Reserving an ordinary or Green Car seat
Ordinary Car reserved seating on the Narita Express is included. For purchases through the official JR-EAST Train Reservation service, each traveller must create their own account and buy their own ticket; purchases on someone else’s behalf are not allowed. A Green Car requires the full Green Car and reserved-seat limited express charges, not just the difference from an Ordinary Car seat.
What if my flight is delayed or I miss my train?
If you miss your reserved train, you can use an available Ordinary Car seat on a later train the same day. Give up the seat if a passenger with a reservation for it arrives. After landing, allow time for immigration, baggage collection, walking to the station and ticket collection before planning to board.
Cancellation and refunds
For the official online purchase, cancellation by 23:50 on the day before travel is fully refundable, and any seats booked with the ticket are also cancelled. Once the physical tickets have been collected, you cannot cancel online. The traveller must visit a station counter in person with the card used for purchase; the refund cannot go to another card.
From purchase to boarding
Check that both Narita Airport journeys fall within 14 days and that the city stations are in the valid area.
If buying through JR-EAST Train Reservation, each traveller must create their own account and purchase their own ticket. Other sellers may have different procedures.
Bring your original passport to a designated collection point at Narita Airport and collect the return ticket and Ordinary Car seat reservation. Allow enough time before departure.
Check the train, carriage and seat before boarding. If you change to a covered JR train, leaving the ticket gates ends that one-way journey.
Use the return journey from a station within the valid area towards Narita Airport. It need not be the station where you ended the outward journey.
Questions about this pass
Can I use JR trains without limit on the day I take the Narita Express?
No. You can change to other JR trains within the valid area before leaving the ticket gates, but leaving the gates ends that one-way journey.
Can I arrive at Shinjuku and return from Tokyo Station?
Yes, if both stations are within the valid area. The first journey must be from the airport towards the city, and the second back to the airport.
Can a foreign resident of Japan use this ticket?
The official FAQ permits holders of passports issued by countries other than Japan, including those with Japanese resident visas.
What happens if I miss my reserved train?
You may take an available Ordinary Car seat on a later train the same day. Give up that seat if a passenger with a reservation for it arrives.
Do I pay only the difference to use a Green Car?
No. You must pay the full Green Car and reserved-seat limited express charges. The return ticket then covers only the basic fare within its valid area.
