Arrival at Narita → Tokyo accommodation
Narita Airport to Tokyo Station, Ueno and Shinjuku
For Tokyo Station, compare the Narita Express (N’EX) with a bus to the station. For Ueno or Nippori, the Skyliner is a convenient option. Choose by the arrival station and the final connection to your hotel, rather than comparing train journey times alone.
Check the last walk to your hotel, including exits, lifts and any onward train. A lower airport fare may involve more changes or walking with luggage.

Keisei's current standard-fare table lists JPY 2,470 (JPY 2,465 with a supported IC card) for Narita Airport to Nippori or Ueno. Its separate discount page still shows an older standard figure, so check the price and eligibility for your selected discount option before paying. Fare pages rechecked on 6 October 2026.

Ordinary Keisei trains vary by route, changes and time. In the official search, choose ‘成田空港’ or ‘空港第2ビル’, your destination and date. The discounted Skyliner Value Ticket is sold on specified LCC flights and at selected Japanese airport/counter locations, with sale-day exchange conditions. It is not a universal station-counter price. Product validity and prices depend on the actual seller.
Finding trains and buses at each terminal
Terminal 1 → B1 railway station
From 1F arrivals, follow ‘Railways / 鉄道’ down to B1 at Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station · 成田空港駅. Use JR for N’EX, or Keisei for Skyliner/ordinary trains.
Official Terminal 1 station PDF (Korean) ↗Terminal 2 → B1 Terminal 2·3 station
1F arrivals → B1 → Narita Airport Terminal 2·3 Station · 空港第2ビル駅. Distinguish JR and Keisei gates. For ordinary Keisei trains, choose the Main Line/Sky Access route covered by your ticket.
Official Terminal 2 station PDF (Korean) ↗Terminal 3 → Terminal 2 → station
Terminal 3 has no station. Use the connecting passage or free shuttle to Terminal 2, then B1. The shuttle ride is about three minutes; add waiting and walking afterwards. Airport guidance gives about ten minutes walking from T3 to the station, excluding immigration/bags and any longer route for luggage/lifts. Official shuttle and passage ↗
Destination-specific bus stops outside
TYO-NRT uses T1 stop 7 / T2 stop 6 / T3 stop 5. T1/T2 stops are outside 1F; follow bus signs at T3. T1 directions are right of north C1 or left of south S1.
Limousine buses to Shinjuku, excluding TCAT services, use T1 11 / T2 16 / T3 8. Shibuya and Shinjuku via TCAT use 10 / 17 / 9. Compare your booking’s destination and intermediate route with the counter; these differ from TYO-NRT. Limousine stops ↗ · Airport stop map ↗
From the arrival stop to your hotel
Tokyo Station and Ginza: check the arrival side
Terminal → B1 JR → N’EX → Tokyo Station · 東京駅. N’EX arrives at Sobu Line B5 platforms; use the B4 concourse and exit signs. Marunouchi · 丸の内 and Yaesu · 八重洲 are opposite sides. Check lifts and exits on the JR map.
TYO-NRT arrives near Nihombashi Exit · 日本橋口, not its airport-bound Yaesu south boarding area. For Ginza · 銀座, choose a bus actually serving Ginza, or add rail/taxi travel. For Higashi-ginza Station · 東銀座駅, compare a direct Access Express service.
Marunouchi Central Exit → Marunouchi Building · 丸ビル walk ↗This is an example; replace the destination with your hotel entrance.
Ueno: Skyliner arrives at Keisei Ueno
Terminal → Keisei ticket/exchange → Skyliner → Keisei Ueno Station · 京成上野駅 → hotel. It does not use JR Ueno’s gates. Before visiting Ameyoko · アメ横 or Ueno Park · 上野公園, consider leaving bags at your hotel.
Keisei Ueno → Ameyoko walk ↗Nippori: JR needs another ticket or IC payment
Terminal → Skyliner → Nippori Station · 日暮里駅 → JR → hotel. Go upstairs from the arrival platform to the transfer gates. JR needs its own ticket or transport IC; a Skyliner+subway combination does not cover JR. Transfer-gate guidance ↗
For nearby hotels, choose the exit before leaving. Nippori → Yanaka Ginza · 谷中銀座 walk ↗
Shinjuku: west, south and Kabukicho have different arrivals
Terminal → JR → N’EX stopping at Shinjuku · 新宿 → hotel. Connected cars may split for different destinations; board the car on your seat ticket. A limousine bus instead reaches the booked west-exit, Busta or hotel stop.
West Exit · 西口 and Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal · バスタ新宿 are different stops. For Kabukicho · 歌舞伎町, compare the separate TOKYU KABUKICHO TOWER · 東急歌舞伎町タワー route; the west-exit last time below does not apply to it.
West exit → Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building · 東京都庁 walk ↗Shibuya: train exits and bus stops differ
Terminal → JR → N’EX stopping at Shibuya · 渋谷 → hotel. SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE SQUARE · 渋谷スクランブルスクエア connects to the station and subway exit B6, but B6 is not necessarily beside your JR arrival platform. Follow building signs.
Limousine stops include SHIBUYA FUKURAS · 渋谷フクラス, Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel · セルリアンタワー東急ホテル and SHIBUYA MARK CITY · 渋谷マークシティ, depending on the service. Check hills, crossings and the selected hotel entrance.
Shibuya Station → Scramble Square walk ↗Walking links are examples from the named station/exit, not routes to every hotel. Enter your actual address; construction, lifts, crossings and entrances affect the last section.
Last airport departures and late arrivals
Landing is followed by immigration, bags and terminal/ticketing travel. Compare the time you can actually reach boarding, not just your flight’s scheduled arrival. These airport-departure times were checked 2026-10-04; recheck the travel date, operation and seats.

Last N’EX reaches Tokyo at 22:37–22:38; Shinjuku cars reach Shibuya 23:06 and Shinjuku 23:12. Last Skyliner reaches Nippori 23:43 and Ueno 23:48. Check onward city trains separately. Ordinary Keisei last connections vary by destination/changes; this is not a table of every railway’s last train.
TYO-NRT late fare is JPY 3,000 total, paid onboard with cash/transport IC, not a bank card. Its last Tokyo arrival is next-day 00:38; do not assume onward trains to Shinjuku/Shibuya remain.
Missing a booked departure after a flight delay
- N’EX: check normal booking changes/cancellation before departure. JR permits use of an empty ordinary-class seat on a later same-day train after missing the reserved train, but does not guarantee a new reservation; give up that seat if its holder arrives. Retail/discount tickets need their own issue terms checked.
- Skyliner: ordinary liner tickets permit one free change before departure subject to seats. Retail exchange vouchers can have non-refundable/no-date-change terms. Contact the seller before exchange, or Keisei after exchange; do not transfer ordinary-ticket terms to a voucher.
- Limousine: official web reservation changes up to five minutes before departure and a retailer voucher’s cancellation/activation rules are separate. Contact the booking channel before departure; automatic use of the next bus is not guaranteed.
- TYO-NRT: currently no advance reservations; buy an airport ticket for a specified time. A limousine voucher is not valid on this bus.
Large bags or a late solo arrival
TYO-NRT’s hold allowance is one suitcase per person. Ordinary trains do not reserve seats or suitcase space; with multiple large bags, compare a reserved train or the actual bus’s baggage allowance. N’EX luggage racks are first come, first served, not separately reservable.
After transport or hotel check-in ends, compare the official taxi rank, a confirmed pickup or nearby accommodation. Give the address and ask for the total including tolls/night charges. Any airport overnight plan needs the terminal’s actual open-area rules checked. Tell your hotel the delay and expected arrival.
Use official boarding areas/staffed counters to match the vehicle and destination. Save the final walk, or choose hotel-door transport if walking with bags is impractical.
Choose the arrival station before buying
The Skyliner, Narita Express, airport bus and JR Tokyo Wide Pass are different products. A rail pass is not a one-way airport ticket, and an airport-bus ticket does not include JR trains. Check your date, direction, terminal, final station and seat-reservation requirements.
Follow the selected operator’s payment and collection instructions. If your flight is delayed, contact the ticket issuer before the booked departure about changes and refunds; do not assume the next service accepts the same reserved ticket.
Narita Airport transport FAQ
What should I take from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station?
Compare N’EX for direct rail with TYO-NRT for a lower fare. Adult ordinary one-way N’EX is JPY 3,140; normal TYO-NRT JPY 1,500, arriving near Nihombashi Exit. TYO-NRT late services cost JPY 3,000 total.
Is Skyliner suitable for Ueno or Nippori?
Yes, for a direct arrival and reserved seat. The current standard one-way ticket is JPY 2,470 (JPY 2,465 with a supported IC card); the fastest Terminal 2·3 station–Nippori ride is 36 minutes. Keisei Main Line limited express is cheaper, without reserved seating.
Can I go directly to Shinjuku or Shibuya?
Choose an N’EX serving your station, at JPY 3,330 adult ordinary one-way. Limousine buses also serve selected station/hotel stops, with different last departures. Use your hotel address to choose the arrival.
Where do I catch Skyliner or N’EX from Terminal 3?
Terminal 3 has no station. Walk the passage or take a free shuttle to Terminal 2, then B1 Terminal 2·3 station. The name means both terminals share that station. The shuttle ride is about three minutes, plus waiting/walking.
What time is the last transport from Narita?
Checked on 4 October 2026: N’EX leaves T1 21:44/T2 21:47; Skyliner T1 23:00/T2 23:03. Last Tokyo-bound TYO-NRT leaves T3 23:20/T2 23:25/T1 23:30. Destination, date and onward trains differ; use actual boarding readiness after arrivals.
Can I change transport free after a delayed flight?
Not every ticket allows free changes. Normal N’EX guidance permits an empty ordinary seat on a later same-day train, without a new guaranteed reservation. Skyliner/limousine vouchers follow seller and activation terms; contact the issuer or counter before departure.
Is the limousine bus the same as the JPY 1,500 Tokyo bus?
No. Destination-specific limousine buses and TYO-NRT are separate services. Check Narita departure and the exact drop-off. This guide provides official booking/payment information; a rail pass, N’EX one-way ticket and airport-bus ticket are also different products.
