Park and walk the streets around the castle. For an indoor visit, you can choose a ¥300 adult individual ticket for the history museum. The preservation association lists its hours as 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Arrive with time for the exhibits and check temporary closures separately. If you arrive late and cannot confirm opening or last admission, skip the indoor visit and walk the streets instead. The association's ¥800 combined ticket covers six facilities; check which will be open before comparing it with an individual ticket.

Toyota's official prices distinguish 6, 12, and 24 hours, subsequent 24-hour periods, and overtime; prices vary by vehicle class, area, and period. One night does not automatically equal a 24-hour charge. This provides a checking route if you choose that company, not confirmed availability or a quote for this itinerary. For a trip without a car, compare one-night itinerary A based at Miyazaki Station. To visit Udo and Obi on both days by public transportation, first confirm your dates' bus connections and the walking detour at Udo.
Day 2
- Nichinan hotel → Udo tourist parking lot
Leave the hotel and drive toward Udo Shrine. The official access notice states that a road collapse prevents access to parking lots 1 and 2 and directs visitors to the tourist parking lot, about a 20-minute walk from the main sanctuary. Check for the latest reopening or changed-access notice before departing and follow the parking directions.

The Udo operator lists about 60 minutes from Miyazaki city via Route 220 and about 20 minutes from Nichinan city. These are not precise times from your reserved hotel to the tourist parking lot or from the shrine to your return office. Do not extend the final shrine visit based only on Udo's general 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. opening. Work backward from the final departure procedures, allowing for the parking-lot round-trip walk, shrine visit, drive, refueling, and car return. Choose a flight for this itinerary only after checking current road conditions, your actual return office, and departure time.
Toyota supplies the car with a full tank and charges fuel according to its rules if you do not refuel before returning it. Follow your booked provider's return and refueling terms. Check whether you must return to the same office and the fees for exceeding your contracted time.
Included: Admission: ordinary Udo shrine visits and outdoor Obi walks are free; optional Obi history museum adult ticket ¥300 or combined ticket ¥800
Extra costs and conditions: Required costs: car rental from day 1 pickup to day 2 return, fuel, and parking used; lodging, meals, and departure transportation extra; tolls extra if using toll roads
Even with free outdoor visits, this B itinerary requires a car rental spanning two days and fuel. Obi Castle Tourist Parking is free for ordinary passenger cars; check Udo tourist parking and hotel parking charges with the facilities you will use. Obtain an official rental quote using pickup and return dates and times, vehicle class, coverage, options, and return office. Add tolls if choosing toll roads.
