Admission
Outdoor cliff viewing is free. Cave admission costs JPY 1,500 for visitors of junior secondary school age and above and JPY 750 for primary school children. Younger children enter free.
Opening hours
The cave opens from 08:00 to 17:00, with last admission at 16:50.

Buy a ticket and take the lift down to explore Sandanbeki Cave. Waves entering the cave vary with sea conditions on the day.
How to get to Sandanbeki
From JR Shirahama, take a bus for roughly 20 minutes to Sandanbeki, then walk about five minutes to the cliffs. The 20-minute bus time applies to departure from JR Shirahama; from your accommodation, check its nearest stop and return services.

Before you visit
Weather and maintenance may close the cave
The cave may close temporarily for bad weather or maintenance. Mid-December maintenance closures are possible, so check operating notices for your date if planning to enter.

Allow the walk from bus stop to cliffs
The cliffs are about five minutes on foot from Sandanbeki stop. Check your return bus first and allow time for the cave if visiting.
