Admission

Through 21 November 2026, paid-area admission costs JPY 400 for adults, JPY 300 for high school students and JPY 160 for primary and junior high students. From 23 November, it costs JPY 1,000 for adults, JPY 760 for high school students and JPY 370 for primary and junior high students. Under-6s enter free. From 23 November, Main Hall interior viewing needs a ticket that includes a reservation for your chosen date and time.

Opening hours

From April–November, the free areas open from 08:00 to 19:30 and the paid area from 08:30 to 19:00, with last paid admission at 18:30. From December–March, the free areas open from 08:00 to 18:30 and the paid area from 08:30 to 18:00, with last paid admission at 17:30. See below for 22–23 November 2026 closure/opening exceptions.

How to get to Shurijo Castle Park

Take Tedako-Uranishi-bound Yui Rail from Kencho-mae to Shuri. Walk roughly 15 minutes to Shureimon, allowing park walking separately. The operator recommends Main Hall sessions 40–50 minutes after planned Shuri arrival.

22 November 2026 closure and 23 November opening

All areas close 22 November 2026. On the 23rd, free inner grounds are scheduled to open 11:15; the paid area and Main Hall interior are scheduled to open at noon. Interior viewing thereafter needs a ticket with a reservation for your chosen date and time. Unreserved tickets exclude it; same-day reservations depend on availability.
