One night in Hiroshima: city sightseeing or Miyajima?
To keep travel between cities to a minimum, visit the peace museum and park on day one, then walk through Shukkeien on day two. For Miyajima, visit the shrine and shopping street first, followed by the city's collection exhibition the next day. Choose Miyajima only if your arrival leaves time for the return train and ferry journey and shrine visit.

Frequently asked questions
Can I visit Miyajima on day one if I arrive late?
Reaching Miyajima means taking a JR train, walking to the passenger terminal and catching a ferry to the island. Check return trains and ferries for your travel date first. If arrival leaves too little time for the shrine, shopping street and return to Hiroshima, move Miyajima to another day or choose the city museum and garden itinerary. Immigration and travel to the station take additional time.
