Kumamoto in three nights and four days: Keep one base or spend a night at a hot spring?

For one base, stay three nights in the city and give the castle, garden, Aso and museum separate days. For a ryokan night, compare one city night, one Kurokawa night and another city night. Include the return-day museum only when an early reserved bus and opening date fit.

One base for the garden and Aso
